Hello Monica, There has been a very helpful post recently which explains how to create new commits by uploading a file via the bitbucket REST API. I believe you can use the same endpoint to create a new commit. Another alternative is to use scripted git push committed changes to a file to the remote repository. Ulrich //…

Hi Kompal, short answer: yes we do :) You can make use of the 'List workspace repositories' API endpoint [1]. It's a paginated API so make sure you iterate through all pages to fetch all repos. The response repo object contains project information as well under the `project` field. Hope that helps. Best, Ulrich // Izymes…

Hi @Paolo.Ascari , me again :) There is a Bitbucket cloud API endpoint that merges a PR [1]. I am not sure if you could swap the POST method with a GET and see if you get the mergeability status? Would be interesting, I haven't tried this yet. Best, Ulrich…

Welcome to the community @Paolo.Ascari ! I suppose you could fetch the repository or project default reviewer configuration via the Bitbucket REST API [1] and update the pull request with these reviewers [2]. Another option is to use a convenient app like Workzone for Bitbucket cloud [3] where you can configure reviewers…

I think Bitbucket 8 server is no longer supported on Windows? The super-easy way to a local installation is via Docker + Bitbucket https://hub.docker.com/r/atlassian/bitbucket-server Hope that helps. Ulrich // Izymes

Great!

Hi Jackson, welcome to the community! You can use the Bitbucket cloud repository REST API endpoint https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/bitbucket/rest/api-group-repositories/#api-repositories-workspace-repo-slug-get to fetch repository details, including the uuid (with the curly brackets). You can then access the…

Please have a look at my suggestion above. You can fix this easily by using git revert. Cheers, Ulrich // Izymes

Hi Manikanta, I feel your pain, having a corrupted master branch is no fun. I assume the master branch is already shared via Bitbucket, or to speak in git terms, the corrupting changes are already pushed to the remote master branch? In that case it is best to use `git revert HEAD~1..HEAD` to create a new commit that…

I don't have a direct solution to show all activity of the last 90 days. We have made an app (Organizr for Bitbucket) that show pull request activity across all repositories of your instance. You could use the app to list all pull requests by updated date which will point you to all repositories which had pull request…

Thanks for sharing @Patrik S The Bitbucket REST API link that @Chris Lugar posted only mentions "kind describes what will be restricted. Allowed values include: push, force, delete and restrict_merges" Could you please investigate why the REST API document is incomplete and if that is the case…

I concur with @Fabio Racobaldo _Catworkx_ - I assume though that "your product" is a plugin/add-on/app (depending on who you ask) that is installed into Bitbucket via UPM. Does your product have a separate DB layer or separate API (JPA) that's connected to MySql? I suppose you could let Bitbucket and the plugin…

Thanks for sharing - I often felt like using a checklist in an issue when Jira subtasks seem a bit too heavy. ( Or does the checklist app create sub-tasks behind the scenes?)

Thank you for the link, @Syahrul - I do understand how the horizontal tabs like 'People' and 'Pull Requests' are scoped for the current workspace, how that aligns with Jira (Project) and Confluence (Space), and how that brings performance improvements. However I still fail to understand how the 'Your work' tab in bitbucket…

> "Bitbucket Cloud aligns closer with other Atlassian Cloud products like Jira Software and Confluence Cloud" How so? I use both Jira Cloud (your work > Worked on or Viewed) and Confluence Cloud (Discover and Pick up where you left off) extensively and the respective Home page show me all activity across Jira projects and…

Thanks for creating the ticket. Voted. Can you explain how this approach was validated agains bitbucket user needs? I have got the feeling that sometimes Atlassian may have a tendency to base it's PM decisions on navel-gazing, not on real-world user needs...

Hello Mamatha, welcome! For your bitbucket cloud workspace to grow with your team you have to start a subscription on a paid plan in https://bitbucket.org/luluindia/workspace/settings/plans-and-billing The free plan is capped at 5 users. Hope that helps Ulrich // Izymes

Thanks for your feedback, Yaniv. I understand that you would like to add custom merge conditions and commands. Have you thought of adding a Bitbucket pipeline or Bitbucket pipeline runner for the PR source branch and have Bitbucket or Workzone control the result of the pipeline runner outcome, i.e. check for successful…

Hello Yaniv, Welcome to the community. The document you're referring to is Bitbucket server only. For Bitbucket cloud no such hook or merge check exists. The app developer community has been passionately communicating this missing feature to the Atlassian Bitbucket team: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-19885…
-
Update: I just checked core Bitbucket.org features. You can set default reviewers on project level, however these reviewers are not branch-specific or file/path specific (with Workzone). Hope that helps.

Hello Adison, That's a very common scenario that even for small repositories and teams it makes a lot of sense to have a standardised pull request process, including default reviewers and enforcing approvals before the PR can be merged. We have built an app - Workzone for Bitbucket cloud (free for up to 5 users) - exactly…

Could you follow a namespace convention for project names? Like Main_project:Sub_project, it would give you at least a logical structure. It won't be perfect though because there won't be a hierarchy of project, subproject and repository :( Best, Ulrich

Agree with Nikki, many fantastic free apps have disappeared because of the the compliance, security and dc approval overhead that is simply too much for enthusiasts that are not keen on what they consider soul-destroying enterprise level red tape 🙈
-
Hello Sankara, welcome to the community. This is a good question, however I am not sure what you need the exported pull request for. On a very basic level a pull request is a glorified git diff view of a source and target branch that allows team members to collaborate, comment on etc. A pull request has a variety of…

Hi Fabian, that's a great question. It's a good idea to keep your pull request workflow clean so that your very clever developers can't cut corners :D I don't think the 'ignore committer approvals' feature is available in Bitbucket server/dc. We have built Workzone for Bitbucket enterprise teams that offers extensive…

I haven't used the app personally. It looks like the app makes use of the free https://chat.openai.com/chat which is in research-beta. When you log in you need to acknowledge a few prompts. I use https://chat.openai.com/chat directly a lot and find it very helpful to find answers or draw inspiration for content. If the app…

I completely agree with the gentlemen who posted here before. Migrate to linux, whether it's your own server or somewhere in the cloud (AWS EC2 for example) I wanted to add that your server license is perpetual (datacenter licenses are not). You can use it indefinitely if you stick to the Bitbucket server version that you…
-
Hello Chandra, For the Bitbucket instance itself you only need to enter the DC license key. If you have apps installed, you'll need to upgrade to the Data Center app version, if one is available. Resource: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/upgrade-from-bitbucket-server-to-bitbucket-data-center-996641211.html…

... forgot to say - same functionality is also available in Workzone for Bitbucket Cloud should you have moved to cloud by now. Best, Ulrich
