Looks powerful! 👍

Hi, @Justin Lo Many of our customers use Clerk Invoices app to close exactly this gap between Jira worklogs and client invoices. Disclosure: I'm a maker of the app.
-
Got it, I was hoping you were working on something interesting))

🛠 In this article, I focused on the overall idea of pricing models — but if you’re looking for practical tools to manage this inside Jira, here are two apps we’ve built to help. Let me introduce them in more detail: Clerk Invoices – create invoices based on Jira or Tempo worklogs, support for hourly, fixed-price, or…
-
I briefly mentioned hybrid billing models (like fixed + retainer), but didn’t go into much detail. If there’s interest, I could write a separate article about how teams use blended approaches in practice — especially when projects evolve over time. 💬 Let me know if that would be useful!
-
Just a quick note — while this article focuses on generating invoices from Jira/Tempo worklogs, there’s also fine-grained control over how invoices are exported to QuickBooks or Xero. You can apply categories or accounts, set taxes, etc. It’s a bit outside the scope of this post — but if that’s something you'd like to see…

Hey 👋, I know this is an older thread, but since it still comes up in search results, I’ll leave this here for others who may have the same question. If you're looking for a tool to break down time spent by individual users on a subtask, JetTime might be a good fit. It allows you to track and report time by each person,…
-
@Samantha Garcia this app works with QuickBooks online at this moment.
-
Hi, @Maria Martin! 👋 Thanks for asking! In the Clerk Invoices app, there is no limit on the issue nesting level, since from the Jira and Clerk point, all of that is just a flat list of issues when we search them. So, our app can import worklogs from any issue type. You just define what issues should be used to import time…
-
@Mollie Williamson you can use Clerk Invoices app to sync invoices created from Jita/Tempo time to QuickBooks.
-
Hi, @Eva Rabinovich! One of the options is to use the Clerk Invoices app for creating invoices based on time logged in Jira and the Clerk Budgets app to track budgets (1 budget for one project).
-
Hi, @Candice Saffer Jira does not have payroll features at this moment. You can try using Jira apps for that. One of the apps that may help with payrolls is Clerk Invoices. You can automatically generate multiple invoices for your contractors with a few clicks. I'm the developer of this app, so you can ask me questions if…
-
Thanks, @Andy Gladstone! We are always open to feedback and if we see considerable interest among our customers in some accounting system, we will integrate with it. What accounting system are you interested in?
-
@A A Ron Geister _Trundl_ would be happy to help you along this way! 🤗
-
Wow, really interesting ideas!
-
Most likely this is the permission issue. The person who made the connection between Clerk Invoices and Tempo should have permission to access all required worklogs. This is the most popular reason for that issue. But there may be some specific reasons, so the best way is to contact us via support@helloclerk.io or via live…
-
Hi, @Yufang Vangaasbeek! 👋 And you can use Clerk Invoices for invoicing purposes.
-
Hi, @Swati Jha! Sure, we have a quick 4-minute pre-recorded demo https://helloclerk.io/demo/ plus you can book a live personal demo by this link https://helloclerk.io/book-demo/
-
Hi, @Swati Jha! * Yes, you can connect Clerk with Xero. In this case, all new invoices could automatically be sent to Xero. * Yes, that is also possible through Clerk API. So you will need to make this custom integration on your side using API. * Yes, we have some reporting features.* You can view the monthly cash flow…
-
Hi, @Julie Bennett! If you need to integrate other apps with Clerk, you can do this via our API. It is a full-featured API that is used by our app. So everything you see in the app could be done with it.
-
Hi, @Julie Bennett ! Probably Clerk Invoices for Jira could help you with some of your tasks. It doesn't cover everything, but you can keep a database of clients and bill them for the time spent by your team. Plus you can add fixed price items to the invoices, that could be the licenses you sell. I'm the developer of this…
-

-
Hi, @Tejal Savla! After you connect QBO with Clerk, you will see all your QBO customers and could create invoices for them in Clerk. And these invoices will be automatically sent to QBO. You can contact me for any questions — anton@helloclerk.io

Hi, @Bruna Voltolini 2! One of the possible alternatives is the Clerk Invoices app. Probably it could solve your issue. I'm the developer of this app, let me know if you will have any questions.
-
Hi, @LaraClaire_Braham yes, you need some plugin for that. Probably this plug could help you somehow https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1221332/clerk-billing-invoicing-for-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud it is for invoicing, not budgeting, but you could create invoices with specific time filters to see the…
-
@Samuel Schmidt just for the record, I have replied to your question here 🤗 https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Software-discussions/How-to-automate-payroll-calculation-using-Jira/td-p/1805867#M5196 sometimes the community doesn't send reply notifications.

Hi, @Samuel Schmidt! Jira doesn't have such functionality. What we want to do is the app for Jira, that will allow you to build payroll (spreadsheet with salary amounts) for all employees who track time in Jira, with the ability to automatically take into account overtime, part-time work, etc. And you could export this…

A really cool feature! 👍
