Hi @Andy , Anand here from Team Amoeboids (developers of Automated release notes app, you mentioned above). This is an interesting scenario you mention here. Have you checked the possibility of using Jira's native automation to pull may be summary/title of the issue from JPD into JSW issue custom field? Then this custom…

@Halyna Kudlak _SaaSJet_ yes. We think role of humans in this case becomes more pronounced as they need to keep the 'generic (& at times, erroneous) information' at bay. Thanks @Jim Gilliam . Great idea. But how would you ensure that release notes authors are not 'blindly' going with ChatGPT's version of the release notes?

Hi @Rebecca Alfredsson This is Anand from the Automated release notes team. I don't fully understand what you are trying to achieve. ARN also supports generation of release notes via Sprint completion trigger. I may be able to assist if I have more information. Could you please book a convenient time from here…
-
@Vikas Gharawala you can create a Confluence space that is publicly accessible and publish your release notes there or you can set up an automation rule that sends email notifications to pre-configured email addresses on a certain trigger or you can use the release notes apps that are available on the marketplace & should…
-
@Stefan Prelle based on above conversation, it is definitely not a cakewalk to achieve what you are trying to. May I suggest you look at the marketplace apps that might potentially solve this challenge for you? These are some of the apps that should help - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/search?query=release%20notes PS -…

@Hardik Aggarwal given that the native automation does not support this scenario yet, let me take this opportunity to recommend our app Automated release notes for Jira. It allows you to prepend/append/create/create or update Confluence pages with relevant information from Jira. If your needs are limited, you can also give…

@Carlos De Los Reyes please use our support portal - https://amoeboids.com/atlassian-apps/support Irrespective of minor UI differences, there should be a Confluence section under integrations where one can add URL, username and token. Best Anand

Hi @Carlos De Los Reyes My name is Anand and I work at Amoeboids which develops and supports the Automated release notes app. This error appears when the Confluence set up isn’t completed in ARN. Please refer this article https://amoeboids.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/ARN/pages/305102861/Setting+up+Confluence Hope that helps.…

Hi Tejal, Thank you for reaching out. I did notice that you've already created a support ticket regarding this on our support portal. Let us continue the conversation there. Best, Anand Amoeboids Technologies

Thank you for the kind words @Amit Kapoor We have been able to add real value to various teams through our apps, only because of the amazing customer collaborations that came our way. Let me take this opportunity to thank YOU & many other customers who have helped us grow with their detailed insights.

@aagrawal that is right. You can use the 'preview' function to generate release notes manually in email, html etc formats and copy them to be used somewhere else. There is no limit on number of previews in the free version. This is almost similar to what you might be doing with the default release notes feature in Jira.…
-
Hi @aagrawal That is a possibility only on Server/DC variants of Jira. It is done via modifying the underlying velocity templates(read more here). But that is not an option on cloud. So the bottom line is - you cannot have customised release notes documents out of the box from Jira's functionality. If you are open to using…

Hello @Johan Gordér Glad to hear that. You can share your feedback on our portal - https://amoeboids.com/atlassian-apps/support Best, Anand
-
Hi @Johan Gordér Have you looked at the Automated release notes app for Jira? If you are happy copy/pasting you may even start with the free version of automated release notes app. ARN allows you to choose any fields from Jira to be included in the release notes document. Additionally, you can configure beautiful templates…
-
@[deleted] there is no out-of-the-box automation available for this use case. However, there are a couple of things you can do here - 1) use a combination of Jira's native automation & a custom Confluence API call. However, you will need to invest some effort into the initial development as well as ongoing maintenance. 2)…
-
@Charles Liss this is the same problem we strive to address with our app - automated release notes for Jira. While there are multiple apps that can generate something like a release notes document (e.g. scriptrunner), ARN takes this to a whole new level. Right from the release notes content generation to distribution,…

@Virginia Morrone ARN currently doesn't support MFA directly. You will need to make an exception for the email address which is to be configured in ARN & allow it to work without MFA. Some email providers also allow email addresses with MFA to be configured via SMTP, however these are provider specific functionalities that…
-
Good to know @[deleted] . Do you have a different variant of release notes for 'internal usage' or is it just one that goes onto your public documentation? Curious to know. Best, Anand
-
@Mkurama you can definitely write you own API to achieve the desired outcome. However, there are following considerations - * You can either do this via a standalone application which retrieves relevant information from Jira and pushes that to Confluence. * or You can write a Jira app that works right within Jira. Both…

Hi @ian.conolly , this is Anand from team UpRaise. Can you please post the details on our support portal- https://amoeboids.com/atlassian-apps/support Best, anand

@Virginia Morrone this is the response on that ticket from my colleague. The problem seems to be with your email server configuration. You will have to get in touch with the email admin and allow the SMTP usage & check if any other security configurations are blocking this. This is a very common problem that we see & is…
-
@Virginia Morrone I see that my colleague has already added a response on your support ticket. Please check your spam folder if the mail is not in your inbox. Or you can simply logon to our JSM portal and then look at the tickets you created. Hope that helps. Best, Anand
-
Thanks @Andy Gladstone good to know that you are already publishing release notes via multiple channels. Do you end up with different content for these 2 variants- internal vs external? And have you automated the process to compile these release notes documents or is it manual? Best, Anand

Hello @Virginia Morrone This is Anand from Automated release notes team. Can you please create a support ticket so that we can help you out - https://amoeboids.com/atlassian-apps/support best, anand

@[deleted] hope you are well. You can achieve this with the help of Jira's native automation as well as through scripting tools such as Scriptrunner. However, if you are looking for something tailor built for your use case - you may want to look at our app Automated release notes for Jira. If you don't need automation and…
