Molly, general rule of thumb is that if you need to do anything more complicated than that which can be added by one of the drop down, it will be advanced. I usually train my users on the drop-down and then show them what it looks like in advanced mode and how to toggle back so they aren't suprised if they see it.

Daniel, I'm not sure that's possible in cloud. I know that Scriptrunner can support creating other issues on transition but I use it in the server environment. As far duplicating a task to all other projects clone issue might be your best bet? -peter

Boris, just open a JIRA support ticket with Atlassian asking for this feature. That way it can be tracked and others can vote it up.
-
agree - where did you hear this? I'd be surprised if they were included (or bought) as like Greg mentioned above, they just switched to a paid-for add-on and introduced many new features.

Alan, try resolutiondate. -peter

Faiz, looks like you are in a bind for time. Not sure of any vendors out there that could respond that quickly. That said, workflow are pretty easy to create yourself. This is a link to the Atlassian documentation that will explain the ins and outs. Take a look and let us know if you have any specific questions.…

Daniel, it sounds like you need to be able to see all your subtasks as well as the parent issues on your dashboard. Scriptrunner adds the issuefunction in subtaskof() JQL function for pulling all subtasks of specific issues. This is how I do it. Hope this helps. -peter

Like Nic, suggested, Sub-tasks are pretty easy for this and can be added to any issue. The downside is that they are limited to only Sub-task issuetypes and have to be tied to that specific issue. The other way to do this is to use the Epic issue type as the parent and the epic link field to link all other issues to that…

Oscar, try looking at the Automated Log Work for JIRA add-on in the marketplace. This adds a start/stop button to the issues for easy tracking. -peter

Peter, there was a discussion about this a while ago and there is a lot of good information that is still applicable. Check it out here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Answers-Developer-Questions/Confluence-vs-Sharepoint-What-s-the-difference/qaq-p/539092 Hope this helps. -peter

Thanks for this post. I was wondering how that badge was earned!

Russell, the "parent Link" IS EMPTY is supported in Portfolio 2.4+ for JIRA Server. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JPOSERVER-1722 It doesn't look like it's available yet in Cloud. https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JPOCLOUD-1722 Hope this helps. -peter

Similar to what Mikael post but this small edition will limit results to just the story and bug issuetypes. (assignee in ("scott williams", "joe smith", "john smith", "linda williams", "matt johnson") OR assignee is EMPTY) AND project = SDU AND issuetype IN (Story, Bug)

Just finished: SCRUM - The art of doing twice the work in half the time Jeff Sutherlan - nice easy read. gets into the origins of scrum and the core process.

Tucker, what version of JIRA are you using? I'm on 7.3.x and the best I can come up with is to Click the Boards link -> View All Boards -> Recently Visited Boards. This at least shows the boards you frequent. Other than that, you could always bookmark the link to the board in you browser. -peter
-
Brandon, If you are open to the add-on route, I use JIRA Misc Workflow Extensions for this. There is an Email Issue post function that is pretty robust and could handle this. -peter

Greivin, Your attachment is going to stored within the issue and not the comment. This might help with adding an attachment: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-attach-an-attachment-in-a-jira-issue-using-rest-api-699957734.html The nice little link in the comment to the attachment can be added using this format…

Scott, here is a TechNet article on using telnet to test SMTP. This will determine if the problem is server or app level. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995718(v=exchg.65).aspx In case you don't have telnet enabled on the servers, here is another TechNet article that shows you how to do that.…

Benjamin, I thought I heard something about this at Summit in regards to the Identity manager and cloud. Anyone else attend Summit that can confirm or deny?
-
John, our AUG Jira and Confluence cloud are working. It looks like they may have updated Status Page again with a partial outage. Looks like its hit or miss right now.
-
Swati, it looks like you question has been discussed in a previous post. Check this discussion out. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-to-get-consumer-key-for-jira-Oauth1/qaq-p/49925 Hope it helps!

Peter, you can update the Comment by editing the properties of the attached file by clicking the properties link for the attached file. More information here about 1/2 way down: https://confluence.atlassian.com/conf57/managing-files-701435141.html Hope this helps!

Vaughn, I'm not working with students or a yearbook project but Trello should be able to handle you effort without any problem. The one point of advice I can offer is separate the different tasks out into separate Trello boards. It looks like you have a photography group, a layout/design group, and students working toward…
