@GregPearson Turning on capabilities in Jira Align is definitely something to think through and should be considered by portfolio. It is not necessary to turn on capabilities for all portfolios, nor should you do so as a default. Make sure you have a clear understanding of why you need capabilities and what they are going…

@Rebecca Hylek I did get the share and have been following along. @Samit Mehta _321 Gang_ gets a gold star for the win! I'm also thinking of creating a troubleshooting article to link from the Jira Align and Jira Integration Best Practices and FAQ Table of Contents article.
-
Thanks for this article! I'm going to link it in the Troubleshooting section of this article, https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Align-articles/Jira-Align-and-Jira-Integration-Best-Practices-and-FAQ-Table-of/ba-p/1253497.

You're welcome! I can just follow the ticket if you can share it with me. I can't seem to access it by searching for it. If you go to the ticket on the right hand side there should be an option to share. You should be able to type in my name and share it with me that way. Thanks!

@Rebecca Hylek I agree with your TAM, it's best for Support to help you at this point. Those were the key things I could think of to check. I would be interested to know what turned out to be the issue. After you get it figured out with Support, if you think about it, could you respond here and let me know what was causing…

@Anitha Devkumar I just connected with Steve and shared with him.

@Kyle Foreman Any Jira connector impacts with the updates in the article that are being referenced?
-
@Rebecca Hylek I have tried the same steps in my instances and am unable to recreate the issue. Here are a few things I can think of to check. Essentially what is happening is Jira is rejecting the update of the Owner field for some reason. * Does the same happen if a different user is selected as the owner?* If not, then…
-
@Tracy Walton I have not heard any mention of that. There was a Community Article put out by Head of Product for Jira Align about some changes coming in the near future with the connector and that was not listed.
-
@Rupinder Pannu When splitting a feature, each part will have its own ID. The original feature will be part 1 with the original ID and the split will be part 2 with a new ID. These will be linked together as indicated in the below screenshots. This is the only association of the two. There are no reports or views where you…

@Rishabh Kochhar It is not possible to move Epics from the Portfolio level to the Enterprise level in Jira Align. The Enterprise level contains items above Epics like Goals and where the Strategy is managed.
-
@Natalia Baryshnikova For the Integration with Jira Software updates, is that only Data Center or Cloud as well?
-
@Anthony Smidl If you are talking about loading a batch of features/stories, either solution works. Scenario 1 may be the better option because only the PI would need to be updated via export/import. It would not be necessary to add the program because that will automatically be set via the connector. The projects are…

To add to what Allan said, we don't sell Jira Align as a full stack tool. There hasn't been an investment made at the team level in a while besides bug fixes. Jira is going to be a better option at the team level than Jira Align.

Happy to help!

@Jason Leeming I figured out which permission controls Prioritization being displayed in More Actions on the Epics Grid. It is the Manage Agile Objects (Admin) toggle in the Permissions section under Additional Options.
-
@Jason Leeming If they go to the Epic Backlog, do they see the Prioritize button there? That leads to the same page.
-
@John Ames It is okay to turn on Ideation access for an integrated user and will not make them a licensed user. Anyone is allowed access to the Ideation feature in Jira Align; even users that are not licensed/full or integrated. An External User system role can be used where the only permission turned on is this. This…

@Pratik Bengali I raised this question to my peers in a meeting and there are advantages to sharing PIs across portfolios if there is shared work across portfolios, especially if there are dependencies between these portfolios. If portfolios are using the same shared services teams, it also makes it easier for these teams…
-
@Pratik Bengali The Portfolio field has no bearing except for that. If a PI is shared with programs across different portfolios, it will still appear in the PI Grid when selecting any of the portfolios. It would be customer's choice as to which portfolio they want listed. If there is going to be someone specific that is…
-
@Pratik Bengali Thanks for your question! The selection of the Portfolio is relevant to know if Capabilities are turned on or not as Capabilities are turned on at the portfolio level. If a portfolio is selected that has Capabilities turned on, the only programs that will be displayed are those that belong to portfolios…
-
@John Ames In my experience, there isn't a difference in the data returned. When you "x" out of the PI, my guess is that it is leaving "Select" there because there was previously a selection. It identifies this filter is being used but just doesn't have a current selection, making it less clicks to reselect a PI again.…

@Jay P. Thanks for your interest in Jira Align! We do offer a beginner course for Jira Align which covers the Program layer of the product. It is available in Atlassian University and is called, "Jira Align Program Essentials". There is also a webinar that covers the topic of Dependencies in Jira Align. Hope this helps!
-
Hey @Ahmed Elmazon - If the team that is not appearing on the Program Board doesn't have any stories associate with a feature for that PI, the team will not display on the Program Board. In this screenshot, you can see the program, Listing Services, has 2 teams. The Program Board isn't showing any teams. You can see there…
-
@Sathish Ponnusamy You can map them as stories via Custom Issue Type. Here's an article you can reference on how to do that.
-
Ah, I see where the confusion lies. Jira Align has the ability to integrate with Jira. The assumption is that you are already using Jira or are also purchasing Jira. When we integrate the tools, anyone that is assigned to an issue in an integrated Jira project will come over as a user in Jira Align. These are mostly…
-
Hey @Hemanth Veeramachaneni - When you purchase Jira Align, this is not inclusive of Jira. These products are sold separately. The version of Jira would depend on which version you purchase.
-
@JC Stafford Another option is to do an export, update the PI on the export file and then reimport. You can find these options in the More Actions button on the Features Grid. Make sure to keep the file as an XML file. I like this option because depending on how many features you are trying to update, I think it is an…

Glad we were all able to help! Thanks for the follow-up.

I would reach out to Support. They would be able to confirm if something changed. And if it did, if it was intentional or may be a bug that has surfaced.
