@Anish Deena Here are some straightforward use-cases requiring access to Team data. Let's start with an Advanced Roadmap in Jira Cloud using teams. Here are several Automation Rules that would need to leverage the Team field: * Confirm that the Assignee for each issue in the plan is in the Team. * Assign someone in the…

@[deleted] When creating a new Classic project in Jira Cloud, it presents you with an option to "Share settings with an existing project". Using this causes the new project to share most of the Schemes and some (not all) of the other configuration associated with a project. Some more info is here, under "Create a project…

The sprints are not "linked". The two projects are completely separate. Sprints are in the scope of a project. A board is just a "view" on a set of issues. A board shows the issues selected by the filter. A board can show issues in just one project, or across multiple projects. Cross-project boards can get confusing. An…

I'm not aware of any permissions in Jira Cloud that would prevent a user from being able to see attachments on issue that they otherwise would have access to see. If truly only one user is affected, it's probably worth experimenting with user-specific aspects of their Jira experience. Some things to try: * Have the user…

Sorry, not enough info here to help. Consider posting the JQL and/or screenshots, so we can better understand what you're trying to do, and how it is not working.

Unfortunately, I don't believe there is a way to do this in the baseline version of Jira Cloud. I did a quick search on the Atlassian Marketplace, and did not see a free app that would help for your use-case. There are paid apps that will solve this for you. The closest thing in JQL is the parentEpic() function, but it…

The "ribbon" on Confluence pages shows when you are editing the page. By default, pages are in "view" mode. Click the edit (pencil) icon to switch from view to edit mode for a page.

Your testing will better match what I'm describing if you leave the Original Estimate and Time Remaining fields blank. That's what I meant by "we are not estimating". I realize that one common use-case for Roadmaps is for "planning". But our hope was that Roadmaps would also have value for "tracking" (independent of…

Fortunately I wrote a 6-page summary of all the ways that Advanced Roadmaps disappointed us with tracking a series of efforts. I'll include just the bits related to the "Progress (h)" column below. Note: we do not estimate work for the issues discussed here. * When epics are shown on the roadmap, what shows for this column…

Oddly, I'm going to come to Atlassian's defense about some of @Kimball Johnson's comments. I think that the "Team-Managed" vs "Company-Managed" distinction is significantly valuable - at the marketing, manager, and technical staff levels. No short name representing a complex set of product features is ever going to provide…

If you are really trying to put more than 3000 issues onto a roadmap in Jira Cloud (or more than 300 epics), you're probably hitting a documented limitation. The troubleshooting the roadmap link provided in the error offers some suggestions (and states these limits). The workarounds provided are mostly about fine-tuning…

I'm going to assume you're talking about Classic (company-managed) projects, rather than Next-gen (team-managed) projects. - - - - - - - One built-in option is to use an Issue Search in the project (Project > Issues > Advanced Search), use a search similar to this... project = "ABC" and type in standardIssueTypes() and…

Documentation on post-functions in workflows is here. A quick comparison of workflows won't show you this difference (as you discovered!). You have to go into the "Done" transition in order to see the conditions, post-functions, etc, that are configured on that transition. I've included a visual below, with the steps for…

Your link didn't work for me, but I believe this is the same article. I noticed that the article addresses customization available in Jira Server (not Jira Cloud). I'm pretty sure that this level of customization is not available in Jira Cloud. I think I've seen some (possibly outdated) suggestions that certain browser…

I see -- it doesn't show in strikeout when the link is viewed in Confluence. Curiously, I could not find a bug or suggestion for this. I definitely expected to see one already reported. Consider reporting it here as an enhancement suggestion.

@Jack Brickey Yes, we use that "classic project as-a-template" approach today. It's inadequate on many levels. It would be easy for me to say too much about this, and sound too negative. Instead, let me return to the question I asked: Will we be able to create our own templates?

Will we be able to create our own templates?

Hmm. I experimented, and I cannot find another workaround for you. I also do not see this behavior in our Jira Cloud instance. I suggest you report this to Support as a bug, and enlist their help. Be sure to include your first screenshot here, as it clearly illustrates the problem.
-
Here's an example of a linked issue that is Done which shows crossed out (in our Jira cloud instance): Maybe you can provide a screenshot showing what is not working in your instance?
-
If this is still happening for you, I'd suggest reporting it as a bug. Since Atlassian is continually rolling out changes and fixes to cloud customers, they sometimes will have brief glitches (a known side-effect of our continuous deployment era). You might also want to bookmark the Atlassian Status Page to watch for…
-
You might want to report this as a bug instead of posting it in the community. A workaround that might help is to change from using "is empty" to comparing against an ancient date: "Start date" > "2000/01/01"

Thanks for some more clarity on this, Dave. It would be helpful for many of us (power) users to have a deeper understanding about the "reasoning behind how issues are auto-scheduled". It's pretty challenging to train others when us admins have to just accept "opaque" behavior. The auto-schedule algorithm incorporates…

I'm relatively new to Advanced Roadmaps too, but it looks to me like your examples are, in fact, consistent with the documentation. And I agree with you that it's not really making real-world sense. I believe the sequential/concurrent choice is only relevant for when Sprints are being used (which is why that setting has no…

After some experimentation, I think I can confirm that Jira cannot support your use case of: * read-only visibility to an Advanced Roadmap plan, and * no visibility to the issues in the project(s) related to that plan. At first I was encouraged by the "Advanced Roadmaps Viewer" permission under "Settings > Products…

Advanced Roadmaps for Classic projects (for Premium and Enterprise plans) have a way to share a read-only view of the plan. When you're in the (editable) plan, there is a "Share" button at the top, which provides a URL to a read-only, live version of the plan. It might be worth experimenting with that link, to see what…

There is a "Roadmap" functionality in Next-gen projects. It's more limited than what we call "Advanced Roadmaps" (aka "Plans") in Classic projects. I was just confirming project type, as it makes a big difference for user permissions.

This should not be tagged for "cloud" at all.

Your story A1-1 has subtasks. So it shows above the "Other Issues" section. You can click the little arrow on the far-left for A1-1 to expand the story to see it's subtasks. The "Other Issues" area is reserved for issues (stories, tasks, bugs, etc) which do not have subtasks. This dichotomy of issue visualization is a…

I don't believe you can create a workload pie chart (or any other pie chart) in Jira using a "logged time" metric. Most of the built-in charting (in both Jira and Confluence) limits the axes to be (multi)select fields, not numeric fields. You're wanting to use the "𝚺 Time Spent" field, which is a built-in computed numeric…

Is this for a Classic or Next-gen project?
