Right. That's the same thing as in your original post. But the question you asked was "why is there this difference"? Thanks for accepting my answer!

Sorry, @Dave Lines, I never did get an answer. I also did not spend any more time researching it, as these metrics were about my own pages (an internal org-facing blog, to assess readership and value). If it had been important to the org, I might have dug deeper.

Hi Julia, and welcome to the Atlassian Community. Much of the success of Plans/Roadmaps in Jira has to do with the Plan Configuration. Access this with the "Configure" options under the gear icon next to the Plan name (on the left as you view the plan). There, ensure some basic necessary configuration, such as: * Issue…

I'm also concerned that we might be miscommunicating about #1. I'm aware there is a new Archive Issue feature recently release for Jira Cloud. But that's not what the "Browse Project Archive" permission relates to in Jira Data Center. As I'm sure you know, archiving Issues and archiving Projects are two different things.…

Thanks, @A A Ron Geister _Trundl_ Your #4 answer confuses me though. I'm looking at the Default Software Scheme in a trial Jira Cloud project. I search the page for "worklog" and only find these: * Delete All Worklogs * Delete Own Worklogs * Edit All Worklogs * Edit Own Worklogs I do not see "View All Worklogs" in the…

I can't say for sure, but here's my plausible reasoning (as a former web and software developer): There are likely two separate front-end codebases for UI/UX/rendering for TMPs vs CMPs (and of course they share a lot of middle- and back-end code). Allowing the high-level URL handlers to differentiate this likely eliminates…

Despite posts elsewhere lamenting that you can't iterate over the Labels field effectively, I think I can get you very close. I started with an issue that had a bunch of labels: Your prefix is "firm-" and my prefix is "M". Note that your prefix is 5 chrs long, mine is 1 chr long. This smart value:…

Unfortunately there seem to be many Jira App with "Time in Status" in their name. So no one here is likely to be able to help you with your question as stated. I recommend you validate which exact Jira App you are using. You may need to check with a Jira Administrator for your instance to determine the exact App name. Then…

Board columns directly map to Status values in issues. An issue will only appear in a Board column if the Status if that issue matches one of the Statuses mapped to that column. That's just how Boards work in Jira. As @Trudy P Claspill mentioned, quick-filters are a great way to, for example, focus on on issues which do…

Thanks for circling back on what fixed this, @Jason Krewson Happy to vote for your answer to your question. :-)

It's certainly possible to have two separate boards handling different parts of a workflow for a single Jira project. For example: * Board A1 of Jira Project A is used by the Product Owner and BAs to triage, evaluate, scope, and prioritize incoming work. Their board has columns like "New", "Evaluating", "Approved" and…

Hi Lukas, welcome to the Atlassian Community forums. I too have been frustrated with how the WYSIWYG markup editor works with hyperlinks. A few things you might want to experiment with: * Compare behavior between the "Visual" and "Text" views of fields that accept markup. * Try using copy/paste to insert links instead. For…

Hi Jana, welcome to the Atlassian Community forums. Your question confuses me a bit. I'm not quite sure what you're seeing. This seems to be tagged for Confluence Cloud, so I suspect you've got some Jira macros on Confluence pages which are showing columns of information? There aren't "boards" in Confluence. A screenshot…

Jira Automation would be the way to accomplish what you want here. There no other native "field mirroring" capability that I'm aware of. An alternative to all this copying of fields would be to eliminate the redundancy altogether: * Remove the redundant fields from the Subtasks by creating a separate Screen for them, and…

In Jira, Boards are just a view of the issues in a Project. So simply make another Board based on that Project. You can arrange the columns on this new board however you want. As long as you don't move issues on the board, it can show you a synchronized view separate from the other board.
-
There's likely nothing (except perhaps a Marketplace app) that would be similar enough to what you're used to with that gadget. Some alternatives you might want to explore: * Jira Plans (formerly known as Advanced Roadmaps). Enable the "Progress" pseudo-Field to see a slightly more nuanced (3-color rather than 2-color)…

Tasks (and other Story-level or "standard issue types") use the "Epic Link" field in Jira Data Center to tie to an Epic.

It might be that the semicolon is confusing the import. I found a few old posts which suggest that semicolons on import might be a problem at times. Have you tried removing or replacing just the semicolon character to see if that allows this one to import correctly?

If you just don't want those "not ready" issues to show on your board, simply put those statuses in the "Unmapped Statuses" (far-right) column: Jira > Sprint/Kanban View > Board > Configure > Columns They will still be visible in your backlog.

I'm a fan of naming things succinctly, and the excessive prefix notation here seems to obfuscates the actual name of a rule. I greatly prefer rule names like: * Email business owner list weekly * Maintain "Work Started" field * Unflag when Done Rule labels are awesome, and as an organization it totally makes sense to put…

So it sounds like a Permission granted to "Application access" will be granted to all users of the related application (the one listed, or if none is listed the application being used, Jira Software in my original post). It also doesn't sound necessary, if a Permission Scheme is being carefully crafted to use Groups and…

That API description says (only): Represents an Application Role in JIRA. An application role defines which users (indirectly through groups) can access an application. An ApplicationRole is defined by a JIRA plugin through it's module configuration. An ApplicationRole is regarded as licensed when there is a (potentially…

So are you saying that "applicationRole" with no additional parameters is the same as "anyone" or "group=jira-software-users"? If not, then please clarify. I'm not understanding "granted to Application access ... [with] options". In my example above, the question is "who in Jira has access to DELETE_OWN_COMMENTS?" --…

Hi @Stephen Nwadinobi and welcome to the Atlassian Community. I'm only going to focus on your first issue (see my P.S. below). First off, I'm not aware of a "Release" issue type in Jira. It's not clear to me if you've customized Jira to literally create a new issue type called "Release", or if you are confused about how…
-
I'm not sure what you mean by "add tests". Different teams use Jira in different ways to support their testing needs. For example, many teams use the Zephyr add-on, which supports Issue Type "Test" directly and in QA-friendly ways (e.g. custom designed test cycles, metrics, etc). I suspect from your post you are not using…

Thanks @Andy Heinzer One other question. We are a large non-profit org currently on Data Center (Jira and Confluence) and not using JSM. We've started using ProForma Forms. We're also planning to migrate to Cloud. Will our eisting Data Center ProForma Forms migrate well to the cloud? And at what point during the migration…

Personal Access Tokens (PATs) are different between Jira and Confluence. So if you are trying to use a Jira PAT to authenticate to Confluence, it will not work (and vice versa). Ensure you are using a Confluence PAT to authenticate to the Confluence API. Do I need some permission in addition to the token created to make…

The "ProForma Licensing - Atlassian" hyperlink above redirects to the main "Jira Service Management Resource Library" page (please fix). I'm not alone in being VERY interested in knowing the timeline for having ProForma style forms available in Jira Cloud (not JSM). Also, as a current Data Center large-org admin planning a…

It won't do much good to add "me too" posts here. To actually prod this along, we need to bug the vendor (Tempo). Here's how: * Go to their "idea repository" and log in (or make a free login): https://ideas.tempo.io/ideas/T-I-336 * Then log in and vote for that idea. I just did (vote #114). As a community we can cast our…

I know this is an ancient thread, but for others who search for "CQL" and "labels" and "hyphen" or "underscore"... I discovered today (in Confluence Data Center v8.5.8 that labels with a hyphen will cause CQL to fail unless you quote them, but underscores are fine. For example: label IN (apple_store) will work fine but…
