@Tanvi.Patel- That's why I flagged @Shawn Kessler . :-)
-
Hi @Tanvi.Patel, I agree with you about the training simulations. They are excellent. With respect to checklists, there are currently no set of standard checklists for a very good reason - each company has its own set of processes and approaches to using Align in concert with the framework or agile method they are using…

Hi @Linda Ostach, Align is an Enterprise Agile Platform, not a project management tool (such as MS Project). That being said, Align does support a bi-modal implementation method to support traditional waterfall project management as a company transitions to agile at scale. Can you be more specific in your ask? Project…

You are very welcome, @[deleted].

Hi @[deleted] , Jira Align is showing each unique release (fix version) from Jira (assuming you are using fix versions in Jira). Each Jira project has its own set of fix versions. When multiple teams work together, they use the same fix version names, but each is unique to its own Jira project. Align is therefore showing…

Hi @Vinayak.S, @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-is correct. If you are looking for generic job aids, then the closest thing is the Help articles you can access on each page in the lower right corner by clicking on the blue Help button. If you are looking for aid to help you follow your company-specific processes for using Align,…

Hi @Julia_Mays, Can you please provide a screenshot (or breadcrumb) of which kanban board in the Jira Align backlog you are referring to? The Backlog functionality in Align has 3 Kanban views - State View, Process Step View, and Column/Sprint View. None of these are custom kanbans. Also, I am not sure what you mean by "Can…

See if you can print to pdf. What are the share options? I'm not a Mac person.
-
Hi @Ann Bouvier, Your browser should have the ability to Print or save the page as pdf. You can Print/Save to PDF on Microsoft. Not sure on Macs. It's a browser function, not an Align function. Cheers, Peter

Hi @Mark Slater , @Jessica Wolfeand @Rich Sparks (below) are spot on with Developmental Value Streams/Process steps. I completely forgot about that approach. even though I've implemented it multiple times. Regards, Peter
-
Hi @Mark Slater, That is correct. Pending Approval is the pre-approval status. Ready To Start indicates the Product Manager/Product Owner and the team believe the feature is ready for development. Regarding the duplication/termination issue, Jira Align has advanced functionality (limited by role) to drop and/or cancel…
-
Hi @Mark Slater, As of now, the states in Align for all work objects (theme, epic, capability, feature, story, sub-task, etc.) are fixed and unchangeable. This is to ensure that all of the work rolls up accurately. I suggest you submit an enhancement into the Ideation Portal. Regards, Peter
-
Hi @Dean MacNeil, Good to see you getting active here. I completely forgot about the old AgileCraft glossary! Regards, Peter
-
@Nathan Harrison- FYI. The option @Kit Friend is providing will NOT work when Jira is integrated with Jira Align. You can't have one story on two scrum boards, nor can you have split workflows. This will work in a Jira-only situation, but not a Jira integrated with Jira Align configuration. Enjoy PI Planning. Regards, Peter

You are always welcome, Oleg! Moving to SAFe is moving forward. Reverting is several steps back, but I know you know that already.
-
As I stated in my initial answer, PIs are fundamental to Jira Align. One solution is to create full-year PIs spanning 26 two-week sprints. The problem is, it appears management wants to turn Jira Align into a project management tool, and not use it as an enterprise agile platform. This a definitely NOT recommended. Jira…
-
Hi Oleg, Right now your release trains are the programs. If you reconfigure to different programs you need to reassign the team-level Jira projects and boards to those new programs instead of the existing release trains. I am not a Jira expert. I know Matt showed you guys how to get your Jira epics to show on your Jira…
-
Hey @Oleg Appassov, Yes, but you are gutting the purpose of Jira Align by doing so, given what I know of your configuration. You need to have at least one program/ART in Jira Align to use it. To use one program for the number of teams I know you have is hamstringing Jira Align and reducing the usability and visibility. You…
-
Hi @Oleg Appassov It sounds like you are asking if you are able to delete ALL release trains (default terminology: Programs) from Jira Align. Is that correct? Short answer: You render Jira Align inoperable if you want to remove all programs. * To do so would eliminate the benefit of even having Jira Align.* To do so would…

Hi @Nathan Harrison, You are certainly correct that this is not agile. :-) As I am sure you are aware, there is no such thing as a parent story having children stories in agile; therefore, there is no such thing in Jira Align either. Question: How are you tracking the external vendor code? Are they in your Jira instance?…
-
Hi @vijay prem chandran, Are you asking a Jira question or a Jira Align question? You posted this in the Jira Align question forum, not the Jira question forum. You can map Jira project and boards to Jira Align to support program-level management, but there is no concept of Jira projects being dependent upon one another.…

Hi @Zena Majid, You are very welcome. I assumed you knew it wasn't very agile, but it bore saying. :-) It's the only solution I can think of that is relatively simply, uses your existing tools, and doesn't lead to stories spanning multiple sprints due to the BAs doing the work in sprints prior to the team consuming them.…
-
Hi @Zena Majid, As a coach, I will simply state that this is a completely non-agile anti-pattern, but that is me wearing my coach hat. A possible (EXTREMELY NON-AGILE) solution: A way to do what you are asking in Jira is to have the BAs have their own sprints parallel to the dev team. They would create, sub-task, and…

Hi @Reddy, Interesting. This article, 10X: Add Cards to a Kanban Board, might be of use. This issue could also be caused by a permission setting within your role under the Additional Options section. You will definitely need Admin rights to troubleshoot at that level. Regards, Peter PS: I did warn you to avoid custom…
-
Hi @Reddy, Each role in Jira Align is currently customized when the instance is set up. I recommend to check with your Jira Align Admin to see if you role is supposed to have Delete capability for the Kanban Boards. As you can see in the image below, the custom Kanban permissions are very granular and can be altered by…
-
Hi @Kelley Cooper, Not at this time, as far as I know. To my knowledge, Jira Align is not adding any additional support for the custom Kanban functionality. The last update I saw was back in September 2019 in Release Notes for 10.55. I believe that Jira Align is focused on the Backlog Kanban functionality and continuously…
-
Hi @Zena Majid, This is not a Jira Align question, given your provided configuration of Jira and Portfolio. What module or add-in are you using for time tracking? How are you currently tracking developer time? The easiest way to solve for this is to use sub-tasks under stories. The BAs would simply have sub-tasks for the…
-
@Nathan Harrison- There is no checklist function video. Each training simulation has a series of steps, which is the checklist.
-
Hi @Reddy, Not at this time, to my knowledge, at least not via Jira yet. Jira Align is being more tightly integrated with the Atlassian suite in each release (check out the news on the Trello Integration coming in the next release), so you might see this coming in the future. Regards, Peter
-
Hello @Reddy, You can find the training videos under the Clip board in the upper right corner of the Jira Align screen. Regards, Peter
