@Baxter Johnson It sounds like you have already cutover to the new DC / username format - and if so, the below process will not work, however doing a write up in case it's not too late, or for future reference for others. We've done this type of "shuffle" many times - and it's worked well. YMMV / use at your own risk /…

@Peruma Chinnasamy Yes - to connect Crowd to a new database host, you'll need to update the crowd.cfg.xml file - look for the hibernate.connection.url line and update the JDBC string accordingly Unless the DB username and password are the same, you'll also need to change the lines: hibernate.connection.password and…

Hi @JooHyun Park Windows is listed as a supported Operating System on https://confluence.atlassian.com/crowd/supported-platforms-191851.html * According to the guide, the <crowd-home>/sahred directory needs to be mounted with the directory on the remote network drive, but I don't know how. * All servers in the cluster need…

Hey Shrek, I'm not sure about your 3 questions, however I'm not sure if you've validated the "means all of the sync process should be done after user click login button, and make user success login" - I've not seen (doesn't mean there isn't a way) to initiate a user sync just on a specific user, getting a new user and…

Hi @Teja I would definitely recommend updating from 3.6.0 - there have been many bug/security/performance and functional improvements since that release (Dec 2019). If you have anything relying on the Crowd REST API to update usernames, one of the changes (IIRC, 4.4..0) blocked this behavior by default - you have to add…

Hi @Paul Marachlian The Crowd connector for AzureAD is read only - so you cannot have groups/memberships sync from Atlassian ON-premise back to AzureAD, they can only flow from AzureAD to Crowd etc. https://confluence.atlassian.com/crowd/configuring-azure-active-directory-935372375.html CCM

have you verified the user directory order within the applications (Jira/Conf/BB)? If Jira has an internal user database with the users username in it, and that’s higher than the Crowd directory - the user is authenticating from their Jira user, not the Jira user. Also worth verifying that the Crowd application for each of…

hey @Gaven Ray Given Crowd is important within an environment, it might be worth investing in some scripting/desired state configuration to help with your upgrade tasks. We’ve got Puppet running to manage our OS and up across our whole stack, and a Crowd upgrade takes ~ 60 seconds per node. With Crowd running on multiple…

Time to start testing Jira 9!

Definitely agree here - resolving with a "Cannot reproduce" resolution/comment/tag or something will help with your reporting/metrics down the track. If you're tracking time in Jira as well, you don't want to lose the fact you may have spent an hour trying to reproduce a bug cause you deleted the ticket. CCM

I don't believe there is a way to achieve what you're after. Once a component is created, it's available to all users in the project, and there's only a delete option - no disable CCM

Hey @Raymond Wan You're going to want to upgrade your Confluence from 6.15.2 to one of the MUCH more recent versions - I can't remember off the top of my head if Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA) requires a specific version of the product, however 6.15 was released in 2019, and I would be very surprised if CCMA…

The might be use cases such as HR/onboarding where there is a number of projects (HR, Finance, IT, Facilities etc) where a single status change in one project (hire approved in HR) might create/update issues within some/all of the other projects. To achieve something like this, you could look at a UI based automation…

Hi Gilbert, Can you confirm what you mean by "validated" the domain? Crowd does not have a validation step - I'm wondering if this is more of an Atlassian Access question (for Atlassian Cloud services whereas Crowd is generally for on-premise solutions, though it can be used as a SAML provider) CCM

@Ritaban Bhattacharjee - Crowd 3.4.4 was released in March 2019 - almost 3.5 years ago. This is a VERY long time in the IT/software space and there have been numerous other CVE's that your environment will be vulnerable to, not just the one you linked. The Crowd upgrade process has always been relatively smooth for us (and…
-
@Sofia Grunspan - while the advice from Winderson about going from 3.5.1 to 5.x should be fine, with any upgrade I'd always suggest actioning on a non-production environment first, especially when you're doing a double-major version jump in one go. Read the release notes carefully as well as while the upgrade may "work" -…

Hi, I don't have a Crowd 4.1 instance I can check, but the docs do indicate that from Crowd 4.2 credentials will be automatically encrypted. Given you've got a key on 4.1.1, I was wondering if this meant that it was OPTIONAL on your version, but cannot find any docs to back this up. If you're looking to encrypt the…

Hi @Pascal Charbonneau Atlassian Access allows you to manage the user account object - and this is done on a domain by domain basis. Within your product (company123.atlassian.com), you can still add users from any domain. eg: you're company123.com and you have a customer companyABC.com If you setup company123.com in…

Hi @Sumate Khaonuna Have you tried logging in using another browser and/or incognito/private browser mode? If you can login using incognito, I'd recommend disabling all your browser extensions, then enabling 1 by 1 and trying each time until your login stops functioning and then you've found the conflicting plugin. Hey @Nat Tsai Unfortunately as you've found, the Bamboo REST API is far from having parity with the UI itself. You're unable to setup/configure linked repositories and much more via REST API. One non-UI approach that may help you out is to configure your plan using Bamboo Specs - this can be done via Java or YAML. The YAML…

Hi @Jesus Fernandez I'm not sure if the supplied URLs are just examples, or what you're actually using - but in the first (working) example, you're calling https://myspace/wiki/rest, in the second (not working), you reference http://localhost:8080/confluence/rest - just checking that you are using the correct hostname and…

Hey @Teeka Leone I'd recommend keeping the MS Access Database and Jira logically separated by building a "helper" application/function that was able to access the MS Access Data using read only access, this would then use Jira REST APIs to pass the relevant data via payload to create the issues within Jira. While there are…

Hey Brad, While some vendors monitor Community for questions about their apps, I'd recommend using the support details listed on the marketplace page at https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1224725/hill-charts?tab=support&hosting=cloud to contact them directly. CCM

Assuming you've checked your spam/junk/any other email filtering - next steps I'd suggest: * Configure *@bitbucket.org as an allowed sender * Ask your IT team to trace emails from *@bitbucket.org CCM

I'd be leaning towards the Issue Type based categorisation for "Software" Vs "Non-Software" issues. What this even means will be dependent on your company/culture, but when creating an Issue, the first key piece of information is the Type - so using clearly defined Issue Types for Software (Bug, Feature Request) Vs…

Hey @Samson Lin Given Jira 8.20 supports MySQL 5.7 ( https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver0820/supported-platforms-1095776511.html ), I'd recommend splitting the upgrade tasks. Upgrade Jira to 8.20.10 keeping MySQL 5.7.29 - let that change "soak" for a few weeks before moving on to the MySQL upgrade. If you have…

Hey @Ste404 - I think you've answered your own question. If your usernames on a computer aren't unique, the system that reports on usernames by machine cannot be unique either. If your machine logins were tied to AD, you'd be forced to use UPN to login to the machine, and AD would enforce uniqueness the UPN. CCM

Hey Linda, The below is speculation only based on previous patterns and not based on any information from Atlassian at all, but LTS's appear to be released for a major new version ~ 6 months after the initial .0 release, then a year or so later there's been another LTS (Bitbucket 7.0.0 came out in March 2020, and the first…

I had a similar error, but it was due to my git version being older than needed. https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bitbucket-discussions/Warning-Ubuntu-20-04LTS-users-before-upgrading-to-Bitbucket-8-0/td-p/2030941 pointed me in the correct direction. CCM
