Hey Andy, While I understand the need to be frugal, I’m surprised that you’ve not used ANY paid apps. While there is a cost involved, if the ROI isn’t there, I see two possible scenarios: 1 - there actually isn’t a need for them, you’ve been able to overcome the requests by user training (in that case, amazing work!!) 2 -…

Hey Jimi, check out this app from the marketplace - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1210980/inproduct-translation-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview We used it to rename Issue to Task but also tested out Project to Job - we’ve been very happy with it. One section we found that we haven’t yet changed is the JQL…

I use PHPStorm by JetBrains (https://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/ ) and there's a Jira plugin that allows you to link to a Jira environment and search/browse/comment etc without leaving the IDE. Bundle this with the Jenkins/Bamboo/etc/etc Plugins and you could may never have to switch from the IDE. CCM

For our environment, we implemented some nginx rewrites based off the URI. I don’t have them off hand right now, but they’re pretty straight forward. CCM

Hey all, I spent some time testing this morning and can reproduce this in our environment as well (and, not surprisingly, our cache effectiveness has dropped significantly since we moved to ALB with stickyness on). With stickyness on (as required) - all behaviors with forced cache min/max values are being cached as…

Hey Dina, Delaying the created date would likely mean more complicated logic. My thinking is leaning towards an issue tyoenfor each of the maintenance tasks (or anmaintenance issue type with a custom field for the type of task if there’s lots), and based on the close date of one task (is: oil Change) use some scripting to…

Hey David, Thats definitely something I’ll check in to on our side and report back. When I originally wrote this we were on JIRA server and ELBs. We’ve since moved to DC and ALBs (with stickysessions), will check in to what’s being cached and report back for all. CCM

https://jira.atlassian.com/plugins/servlet/mobile#issue/JRASERVER-68757 now exists to make the value of 10 mentioned above customizable/dynamic. CCM

Hi, The method you’re using is the only documented way to get votes, so looping through from 1-n would be the way forward. if you have the skill set available, or it’s worth outsourcing to get this functionality, you could have a custom API endpoint added where you could post a set of issue IDs, that would leverage the…

Yeah, it’s unfortunate that this hasn’t been addressed yet as the crowd sourcing model obviously works (eg: right here!). Given JSD is just sending search requests to Confluence via the API, I did some spying to see if the request could be altered to support either types of content, however from memory while I got matches…

Hi Timothy, If you're looking at any form of production rollout, I'd highly recommend against running multiple products on the same server. In the world of cloud computing, having multiple smaller servers is likely going to provide you more flexibility. If for some reason, there's still a need to run a single server, then…

This previous post (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Questions-for-Confluence/Does-Service-Desk-integrate-with-Questions/qaq-p/48356) covers the same topic and links to the relevant JAC requests to support. CCM

Hi Emily, Just wanted to confirm that you passed in the same authentication via the command line as you did via the Web UI? If not, you may just be getting the public spaces in Python. If you run https://baselink.com/rest/api/space?spaceKey=spaceKeyName in a clean browser session, does the response match your Python…

Hey Ernesto, The ~ operator is a contains/fuzzy search (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiracoreserver073/advanced-searching-operators-reference-861257221.html#Advancedsearching-operatorsreference-CONTAINS~CONTAINS:~) so may be giving you unexpected behavior based on how it works (it's being "helpful" - but not...). What…

Hi Kurt, You would need to be the only project administrator (can create and delete repositories in that project), and other users would be read/write for the repository itself - or repo admins if they should be able to manage permissions for that repo. CCM

Hey Joshua, while this isn’t applicable to you as you’re using cloud, we use https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1210980/inproduct-translation-for-jira?hosting=server&tab=overview for server (Tasks instead of Issues). Not aware of any cloud equivalents though. CCM

Hi Cameron, Is the Cache Enabled checkbox selected in the directory config? If it’s not, there won’t be a sync option as everything is done live.

Hi Toby, It looks like this is just a copy / paste of a Crowd error/setup screen. If you can provide some background info (is this a new or existing install, what were you trying to do etc) then the community may be able to assist. CCM

Third time is a charm - right? If this is the issue you're having, it sometimes takes 6 or 7 restarts to get ours happy. FYI - https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/plugins-failing-to-start-due-to-plugin-has-an-extra-copy-of-atlassian-spring-scanner-annotation-classes-959299076.html is the KB article we were directed to…

While the above is absolutely correct (and we’ve done this a number of times), if there’s a small number of repositories/users/groups, and/or, if you want to change some core configuration - day the database backend from mssql to Postgres - then setting up a clean server, building out your users setup, then git provides a…

Hi Lucian, What version of Confluence is this on? Our environment has an issue that impacts us every now and then where Synchrony (the collaborative editing service) doesn’t start correctly/in the right order and any attempt to edit a page results in this error. It’s a race condition during application startup and on the…

While Carolyn’s answer is correct if users are seeing your projects issues connected to the sprint you’re talking about, if users are seeing the sprint itself in other projects (but then not seeing the same issues in it) then this is currently by design - a sprint is a system wide object, and cannot have permissions…

Hi Priyanka, you can view the Atlassian certifications available at https://www.atlassian.com/university/certification without knowing more about your desired career path (admin, JSD, sysadmin etc), I feel like the ACP-100 (Jira admin) would be a good starting point for most…

HI wesley, Does this still happen if you use the code tags? If you type in {code} is should give you a widget that then takes any input literally If this doesn’t help, what version of Jira are you using? CCM

Hey Reneesh, We have a number of methods as we have a variety of backend user sources: * Active Directory 1 (~30,000 staff) - users and groups come from AD based on Group filters. Membership is managed in AD directly, or a custom web application that allows identified staff to manage membership which is pushed in to AD *…

Hi Reneesh, Having dealt with a variety of Crowd environments and connectors before, I would suggest not using the delegated connector. Having the LDAP connector with caching on has given us much more control over changes in the past (especially when changing the username format from samAccountName to email field) - just…

Hi Johan, Auditing was release as a native feature in Crowd 3.2 - https://www.atlassian.com/blog/crowd/improved-audit-log-crowd-3-2 which I believe will do what you’re after. What version are you running now? CCM

Hi JoseM, So it sounds like you renamed the user in the database directly. The user admin UI supports renames, so wondering if you attempted to use that first instead of jumping straight in to the database? There's also an app_user table which is very important when it comes to usernames/renames. CCM
