🆕🎥 Hey everybody, I wanted to share K15t's latest video all about chart best practices. I counted it up, an I think there are 20 tips in here, so I hope it's helpful to you! Check out even more Confluence best practices on Rock the Docs.

@CatherineP It looks like you're using the old Chart macro (which I hope is going away). To use the new chart feature, you should be able to select you table, and then in the table options menu, you can select "Insert Chart". Does this work for you?
-
@CatherineP can you share a picture?

Hi @Nathan Wilcox, in Confluence, they designed the content reuse tools, like Excerpt Include, to blend into a page so readers don’t really know what’s happening. I think that’s a good choice for a lot of readers, but doesn’t work for your use case. In your case, you’ll have to manually link to your source page before or…

@Max Foerster - K15t was the perfect partner for this video. His straight face and banter are perfect! And honestly, I can’t use Confluence without Orderly Databases anymore. I’m ruined! It’s just so natural to use, and so easy! And the fact that I can create content in one spot and keep reusing it… Orderly Databases is…
-
Hey @AAMIR ANSARI I’m not sure what you’re doing exactly, but my team’s app Orderly Databases might be helpful to you. With it, you can create databases to help with all sorts of use cases, like project management, employee directories, and a light CRM. One of the field types you can add is a Select field, which does just…

@Amedeo the macro you're looking at is part of our app Scroll Documents, which you have to set up with variants in order for this macro to work. Here is the documentation for this process: https://help.k15t.com/scroll-docs/3.4.0/server/manage-variants-188550180.html Also, feel free to email us at help@k15t.com. We'll get…
-
@Amedeo this is indeed part of my team's app Scroll Documents. Let me know if you need any help getting started with conditional content/variants. We're here to help.

Hey @charong, sorry, just getting back from being sick. Unfortunately, I haven't seen your email. But that doesn't mean I didn't accidentally mistype it. It's mreiner@k15t.com.

Another option would be to wait for the single-space guest feature that's on it's way. I don't know what sort of login requirements this will have. Also, you could use my team's app Scroll Viewport to publish the spaces you want customers to have access to as a restricted help center. You can either authenticate them using…
-
You could make past versions essentially anonymous by deleting them. I’ve used this for a one-off solution.
-
@Mihai I'd love to see what you create. Share it with us! 😉

Perhaps you could create a page template with all the elements you might want and always select that when creating a new page. Then, you can remove any elements you don’t want/need as you build out the page. Here’s a video my team made about creating great templates, in case it helps: https://youtu.be/IkRmyUCnRDo

@Steven Bao ah yes, exporting as a CSV would be nice for sure. What we need for Scroll PDF Exported is some sort of export format, like an image file of the chart. This seems to be a pretty standard practice used in Confluence and third party apps that create visual elements like this. As an example, both Draw.io and…

Hey @charong I'm sort of in the same boat as @Brittany Joiner. I use the two sort of separately, but I've thought a lot about how I could combine the two, especially with smartlinks in Confluence. Let me know if my thoughts might be useful to you. Also, I feel like a livestream with Brittany and myself could be pretty…

Hey @Krupal Jawanjal This is certainly a very weak point for Confluence. Michelle's article details a lot of the limitations with the Word importer. One thing that's problematic is the way some images are stored within the docx format directly. It essentially keeps the importer from pulling these images in during import.…
-
@Steven Bao any plans to make an export format of these charts so that may team could export them as well using our app?
-
Great timing @Steven Bao! Thanks, I'll check it out.
-
Hey @Jerry Etta My team has created quite a few videos about Confluence which might be helpful to you. Here’s a getting started series which will show you how to use the editor: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVvtVyEIKNWh0VpvUfSsyO0e2kouNeC43 And then to really ramp up your collaboration, you can check out our best…

Of course! When you enable access tokens in Scroll Viewport, the entire site is put behind a login page. You can generate up to 20 unique access codes that users can user to log into the site. You might share a code with a single person, a team, or an entire organization. You can also append any generated token as a query…

Great question @James Dellow And as a followup, can guests even use apps?
-
@Danno Seems like you're not alone. I'm also seeing this. I checked with the team here at K15t who makes our Scroll PDF Exporter app and they said this is because the tables are displayed using browser technologies (great because they're very adaptive) and don't yet have an export mode (like an image file that can be…

Well this is just lovely. I feel like the team has put so much thought into this feature, from the admin experience, to the licensing structure, to the UI messaging when a guest is present, to this community post, which explains the feature with the perfect level of detail. I’m so looking forward to not have to jump into a…

Hi @Laurel Burns My team at K15t is using Confluence for almost everything at the company, and we use it very well. As an employee, the access I have to the information I need to get things done is unbelievable. I’ve never had a job like this. We’ve actually made videos about all the Confluence best practices we’ve…

This is amazing! How did I never try this?! Thank you @Kianna

Hi commenters, I'm Matt with K15t and I'm working on a video about table visualization in Confluence. Since this is so new on the scene, I don't have the typical wealth of examples to pull from here at K15t. I'd love to know how your team is using table visualization and why. And of course, any pictures you can share would…
-
Hey @Pascal Yeah, unfortunately that’s not how anonymous access works. It’s all or nothing, it seems. If you want to share one or more spaces with a limited group, you could try my team’s app Scroll Viewport. With it, you can publish your spaces to a customizable help center and you can connect it to a SAML authentication…

Hey @Lars Maehlmann I guess you'd probably get a different answer depending on which PM you ask at K15t. Most of us (including myself) would prefer the Jira Roadmap macro because we handle all of task management in Jira. We're pretty big nerds when it comes to content updating dynamically, so having something on the page…

Hi @Jonathan Lamarre I believe this is a current limitation of Confluence Cloud, but I found this question where an Atlassian support rep was talking about nested lists, so I’ve asked there. Let’s see what they say! 🤞🏻 https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/How-do-I-use-nested-listing/qaq-p/1761690

Hi @Shannon S is there any way to do a bulleted list with a numbered sub list inside it. Or, a numbered list with a bulleted list inside it?
