This just in! We have a Jira issue for this functionality: https://k15t.jira.com/browse/EXP-636 Also, if you look in the list of workarounds on the issue, you can see a link to a user macro someone shared on the community that might work for you.

Hi @Alexi Vanderstraeten No, it only exports page content.
-
@Jana Rasmussen None of us REALLY know what we're doing in Confluence, we're just learning as we go. 😉 The space copying approach is the only app-less approach I can think of. And sadly, it's not without its faults. That was the approach my team used for a while, until we felt the pain enough to look for another solution.…

Hi @Ralf Steinhäusser The Comalla Document Management app will help you set up this kind of workflow and publishing restrictions.
-
@Simran Mehra I think either Public Links or Anonymous Access should help you: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/publishing/give-basic-online-access
-
You can use Public Links for this: https://confluence.atlassian.com/ge/public-links-979425312.html
-
Hi @Janet Shuey That shouldn't be a problem, actually. When using Scroll Viewport, the totally different site design is only seen when people go to the URL for that site. The Confluence UI is left the same for content creators and such. So you can safely trial the app on your instance. Reach out to help@k15t.com if you…

Haha, @Sven Schatter _Lively Apps_ I should have refreshed my browser before submitting my answer. 🤣
-
Hi @EQTribe - Efficiency Quotient I think my team's app Scroll Viewport will do just what you're looking for. With our app, you can choose which spaces you want to publish, customize the look and feel of the site, and give it a custom URL. Here's our help center, as an example of what you can create: help-cloud.k15t.com…

@Lenny Dauw If you wouldn't mind, send me an email at mreiner@k15t.com and I'll connect you with the team. :)

There is a hack you can use to do this. * Create an empty Word document. * Go to the new parent page, and in the ... Menu, select Import from Word. * In the import wizard, select the option to replace all child pages. Because the Word file is blank, it just deletes all child pages. It's strange, but it works. I have a Word…

@Michelle Rau HP wrote a really great article on this topic. She broke down everything that is and isn't imported using the Word importer: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Michelle-s-quot-Five-Stages-of-Word-Import-quot-Survival-Guide/ba-p/1584915

Hi @Alana Varndell I'm so glad to hear that you have some time to improve your knowledgebase. I always love content improvement projects, and it's great when teams can prioritize them. There are a lot of great examples out there. Here, we have a few different ones for you to look at (including Comalatech's…

@Mattias Lundin My team's app Scroll HTML Exporter might work well for you. It takes Confluence Server content and exports it as an independent HTML site with a customizable theme and built in search. https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/420604/scroll-html-exporter-for-confluence?hosting=server&tab=overview
-
Hi @Lenny Dauw My team makes the Scroll Viewport app, which let's you publish your Confluence Content as a help center: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211636/scroll-viewport-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview Right now, the help site it creates is publicly accessable on the internet but we're working on a…
-
Hi @Bharat Tuli For a solution like you're mentioning, I'd recommend embedding links in your modules to send users to the specific help article you think they'll be interested in. For example: Rather than link to: www.confluence.com/KB Link to: www.confluence.com/KB/getting-started This is what my team does. We've figured…

Perhaps you could also use labels for each subject. Since pages can have multiple labels, you could have a page with the example labels: "L1", "login", and "user profile". You then have multiple Content by Label macros on a page the filter for different labels, or, you can use filters in Confluence search to filter by…
-
Hi @Jack A lot of good points here, for issues that have been present since Confluence Server. Perhaps you can use Public Links, which let's you share single pages with a simplified reader UI: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/publishing/give-basic-online-access You could also consider my team's app Scroll Viewport, which…

Sorry to anyone else who's experiencing this. We'll be working on fixing this bug,but in the meantime, here are the workaround steps: * Go to the space permissions in the new space. * Remove view permissions for the anonymous users and save. * Edit the space permissions again, give anonymous users view permissions and save.

Hi @Samuel VISCAPI As far as I know, I don't think you can have a custom first page using the built in PDF exporter. I'd recommend looking into my team's app Scroll PDF Exporter, which allows for custom pages at the beginning and end of the PDF, customer header and footer, and the addition of dynamic content in each. You…

Hi again @Rick Lehtinen Funny meeting you on another thread. :) I do hope Rock the Docs is a good resource for you, and let me know if you'd like a look around. I'm always happy to show how we're creating documentation in Confluence.
-
Hi @Rick Lehtinen Great to have you here! If you're looking specifically into tech writing in Confluence, I'd recommend checking out Rock the Docs, ad mentioned above, and also the #confluence channel in the WTD Slack. Both are fantastic resources. Also, organic gardening, fantastic! I've been learning more about it for…
-
Hi @Armand Amir Rajaei Maybe you could add the "L1" label to all the pages and use the Content by Label macro on your summary page.
-
Hi @Tracy Szappan Do the pages in the published space have any sort of restrictions on them? If so, those restrictions will supersede the anonymous permissions.
-
Wow, this is really strange, because this is absolutely not the way Confluence should work. And no just because of the permissions violation issue, but also because Atlassian doesn't allow non-users to create content in Confluence. You need a user account, so there is record of who created the page. When you create a page…
-
Just keep in mind that if you have Anonymous Access enabled, you can't enable Public Links: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/publishing/give-basic-online-access#GiveBasicOnlineAccess-ShareaPage
-
You could use a page layout to make the content fit in a more narrow area. Then, you could use some panel macros to add frames around each area. It won't look exactly as you described, but it will be close.
-
Hi @Eva Kasiak On Confluence Cloud, you can use Scroll Documents. Here's a look at what you can do with the app: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/versioning/manage-versioned-content-in-confluence-cloud-with-scroll-documents Please give it a try, and you have full access to our support, so please let us know what you…
-
Hey @Andy Phillips That's how Scroll Versions handles multiple versions of the content, yes. But this is all handled in the background automatically. So you could just create a new version, update/add/remove pages in the page, and then users can easily switch to the version they'd like to see.
-
Thanks for mentioning me @Sven Schatter _Lively Apps_ Hey @Andy Phillips, I'm glad you're enjoying Confluence. 😀 This really does sound like a good fit for our apps Scroll Versions and Scroll Viewport. We're using these two apps to create our help center. Users can pick whatever documentation version relates to the version…
