Hi @Helena Roumanus You could try the Expand macro or the Expando app from my team. My team also makes Scroll Viewport, but this might be more than you're looking for.
-
Hey @Dan My team makes Scroll Translations, which I think is just what you're looking for. It adds a language picker in Confluence and enables you to translate right in the editor. Let me know if you have any questions, I'm happy to show it to you.

This tends to work with lists, like when including a page containing a list within a list, it will create a sub-list with appropriate numbering. That said, I've never found a way to manipulate headings. I was hoping that applying the heading style I want it to start with on the Include macro itself would do it, but no luck.

Hi @Andrew Kendris Here's a talk I gave recently that might have some good tips for you: https://youtu.be/vJ-98I5x56w?t=451 My company is pretty much living in Confluence and Slack at this point. All long term information lives in Confluence, which is great.
-
We like too set the topic of the Slack channel to the URL for the page and then add a Page Properties macro on the page with a link to the Slack channel.
-
Hmm, OK. Friends from Gliffy, maybe you can chime in. :)
-
@Jake Ward Are you using Scroll Versions? I just want to be clear whether you're talking about space versions or the page history in Confluence.
-
Hey @Alex McHale My team makes the Scroll Documents app, that might help you out: https://help.k15t.com/scroll-docs/latest/server/compare-versions-168362535.html

Another—sort of hacky—option is to use Confluence search to get the numbers you're looking at. * Select the space you want numbers for. * Select whether you're looking for pages or attachments. * Don't enter anything in the search box and click Search. The number of search results tells you how many pages/attachments were…

You can also do some pretty powerful single sourcing by building an entire space of reusable content and using the Include Page Macro. https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/content-reuse

While we're not winning any design awards, we've got our info well organized. We're using Scroll Viewport for our public website and help center, so that makes them look really nice.
-
If you're adding links to diagrams, I believe this can be done directly in Gliffy or Draw.io.

Hey @Claire Campbell It was removed when the new editor was introduced. 😞 That said, Avi let us know the team is hoping to…

Hey @Dhavval Aarya I've been tech writing in Confluence for a few years now, and I remember having this same problem. Originally, my team went with the "Write in an Authoring Space and Move for Publishing" approach mentioned here: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs/documentation-guide/versioning When I found the manual…

Hi @Megan Ellis Are you using sections to separate the TOC from the rest of the content? If so, perhaps some unwanted formatting was added to the section that's affecting the TOC in the space with the issue. Maybe inspect the section using the Source Editor to compare it on pages from each space. You could also check out…

Hi Daniel, I user Jira and Confluence, and I've spent a lot of time in the Atlassian docs. In my last job, I was surprised to find that I was the administrator for Jira and Confluence, which I'd never used before. I relied heavily on the docs to learn how to use the apps, and still reference them heavily while doing my own…

@Patrick O_Connell I can't say that I've seen an incredible improvement in this area. :( As far as the new editor goes, I think that is only planned for Confluence Cloud at this point, and is still pretty early in its development. It improves on a lot but it's feature limited at this point. Not sure if it fixes some of…

@ilan_sweetch_com You might want to check out our other app, Scroll Documents. It might provide the functionality you need. We've been working on a lot of new features to make it easier to work with documents in a compliance-heavy environment.
-
@Arr Livingston Are you looking to create a space from all the content in the PDF document?
-
Hi @Le mike Atlassian uses my team's app Scroll Viewport to theme their help center. With the app, you can use a configurable theme, like we use on our help site, or you can build one from scratch with HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Velocity. Let me know if you want to see it in action.
-
Woah, you have superpowers @Patrick O_Connell I had no idea you could import Word docs like this. It'll be really handy for me, because I'm planning to write a guide on importing Word docs into Confluence and put it up here: https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs Unfortunately, I don't have much to add here, but I wanted to…
-
Hey @Ashley Arciero I'm with the Scroll Versions team, and I think the conditional content functionality would be a good fit here, but as you mentioned, I think there are things you can do without the app. Perhaps you could create page template for a component that includes instructional text telling authors to add a…

Hey @Stephy Ong Though you can use Scroll Viewport and Refined at the same time, they each shine in specific use cases: Refined applies a theme to make the Confluence view look way better. (friends from Refined, please chime in if this is incorrect). This is really useful if you want some or all of Confluence to look…

Hey @ste Perhaps they used: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1216056/refined-spaces-for-confluence-cloud?hosting=cloud&tab=overview It's hard to tell. I work with the Scroll Viewport team, and it's also something you can do using our app. Here's our help site with an example: https://help.k15t.com/ Seems like you're…

This would be such a great feature for Confluence mobile app! James Gabb (product manager), take note. 😁 Also, I noticed that your tech writing in Confluence. Three things: * Welcome to the club! * https://www.k15t.com/rock-the-docs (you may find this handy) * https://www.writethedocs.org/slack/ (this is a huge community…

Hey @Andre Rybalka To make a space available online, you can enable it for public access. To add SEO optimization and other site functions, you could try my teams app Scroll Viewport. With the app, you can display and theme your Confluence content as a website. Here's an example of how we used Scroll Viewport to create our…

Hi @irina chumanova If you're exporting the documentation using my team's Scroll PDF exporter app, you could add the GIFs to your pages within a Scroll ignore macro and right below, add a Scroll Only macro with the PNG version of the image. In this way, readers in Confluence will see the GIF and people reading the PDF will…

Hi Clint, I've been writing documentation in Confluence for the last few years, and I've found the team collaboration aspect so great. At my last gig, we moved from a very structured writing tool to Confluence, and chose to make the transition manually, since much of the content was in need of a rewrite anyway. That said,…

@Laura Schneider, when you come up with a solution, be sure to use that handy: "Provide feedback about this article" link at the bottom of the doc page to share it. I know the Confluence team really wants to have thorough and accurate documentation.…
