Diana, Can you please provide more information? If we're going to answer this question, or at least try to, we need more context. For example: * Is this about Confluence? * Are you running on Confluence Cloud, or Server? * About what's taking the Submit-A-Request input and sending it off to who knows where. It sounds as…

EDIT: Can see https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-23408. I think this documents the improvements in table cell copying and pasting. The problem with this is more extensive than is obvious, at first glance. I had one of these, and finally figured out that it was the merged cells causing the non-scrolling. But...…

@Milo Test, that worked for me! Yay, and thank you!

Hello, Everyone is mentioning that this is not available in the Cloud version. No one has mentioned Server. Is that because it's a non-issue? I'd also like to do this, and we're on server 6.9.0. Best, Pat O'Connell Technical Writer MindGeek Montreal

Hello, On 6.9.0 server, here. We've staged 6.15.4, I gave feedback, and hopefully that's coming soon. The problem I have with the way Autowatch behaves is that this is the text: "Pages and blog posts that you create, edit or comment on will automatically be watched for future changes." This does not say anything about…

Hello Ms. Ramanthan, Unfortunately, my employer is quite averse to Confluence plug-ins. And we are running the server version of Confluence, not the cloud one. And honestly, your response seems like boilerplate sales text. You say nothing that addresses my concern, which was being able to override the maximum size for the…

Hey Shannon, I'm currently pasting partial URLs and suffering the auto-format-as-a-link thing, which is undesired. I'm guessing that if there's a way to modify this behavior of Confluence's, you'd need to be an admin? Thank you, Pat O'Connell Technical Writer MindGeek

I, too, was looking to delete the contents of multiple cells in a table, today. What's suggested here is a kludge, not a real solution. In fact, I wound up deleting the column, then re-adding it—I only lost the heading cell, and I needed to alpha-sort what was below it. Confluence could be far more functional, with respect…

Minesh, I'm on 6.9.0. If you can resolve your encoding issue, when you use the macro, the controls that show up in the rendered page are: Play/pause, Scrub bar (the thing where you can drag back and forth to navigate in the video), Volume control, Fullscreen icon, A clickable three-dots thing where you can download the…

Reiterating the limitations of Confluence, and suggesting working around it, isn't really a solution in my view. My situation is that I've been brought in as the first-ever technical writer who's actually had that title and job description. I've been building documentation for a tool with lots going on, basically from the…

@A Raadls , I'm no huge fan of Atlassian, but that seems like some deep-seated cynicism. @Matt Kernes , I don't disagree; it's just that your scope is too narrow. I'm sure that add-on developers are happy to have the opportunity to add to the functionality of Confluence, but the downside is the poor saps who have to pay…

Well. I wanted to try this again. Trying to avoid a lot of creating a page tree structure manually. I created a short test Word doc with four levels of headings. It turns out that I didn't understand Confluence offering to split things based on headings 1, 2, 3 or 4! Here's the actual poop: "Level 1 Headings" - Splits only…

Hello all, At work, we have neither the CSS macro nor (I'm told) the most recent version of Confluence. Others have mentioned the panel macro, and I have successfully used it to obtain colored background on text. Unless you do want a title and (and a background color for that, if applicable), the only parameter for which…

There's a second caveat to this, I have found. I decided I would do a large number of headings in a Word doc, as I had quite a page tree structure to create. Bring 'em all in, then reorder. I had been doing this a chunk at a time, importing and then reordering non-alphabetically. (Confluence, do you think maybe there's…

Steffen, There's one thing to note, here: Confluence will not process multiple levels of headings from the Word document, then create a whole tree structure of new pages. It's a one-heading-level process, and at least so far, the choices are only Heading 1 or Heading 2. Cheers, Pat O'Connell Technical Writer Montreal

Olivia, thank you for your answer to this. We're on 6.9.x - I think non-cloud version. I found only one caveat. I had already created the parent page for the sub-pages that I wanted to create in this way, so it actually created a new parent. Then I had to reorder pages and delete the extraneous one, but meh! Not the end of…

Hi Bill, Thank you for your reply. As to the own-server or cloud version, what's at the bottom of any page is this, which I find inconclusive: You can modify the CSS stylesheet at both the space and global levels (see styling-confluence-with-css). Your adnin should be able to help you by giving you space admin rights, or…

Dev, I'm almost new to Confluence; I'm at the end of only my second week of working for this employer, and this is the first employer where I've used it. I don't think you can implement a CSS stylesheet without actually licensing the CSS Stylesheet macro. I am looking to have my employer license this, too, so I've been all…
