@Sara Nicholson, Jira users count the prices for all Atlassian Apps on the marketplace.

Hi, Which type of Jira hosting are you using, and in what kind of project do you want to create this behaviour? You can achieve this in Cloud JSM projects with Jira Forms. However, if you need the same functionality in Jira Software, you will need to use a Jira plugin. We created Dynamic Forms for Jira specifically for…

Finally! 🎉 Awesome news! I waited for that for months.
-
We resolved that with Dynamic Forms for Jira. Moreover, you don't have to write any scripts for that. The whole configuration is really simple and you can set it under the specific project or globally for all projects that are using a specific scheme. You also gain some additional abilities like Set Default Value (even…

@Thomas Niederholz You can use external plugins for that. My team created something dedicated to that problem. You can check Dynamic Forms for Jira to set values for fields or hide/show fields based on defined conditions.
-
Hi @Ann R , not sure where the problem is but to check if that is on our side please raise a support ticket with the provided HAR file generated for that situation. My team will be happy to help you with that. Best regards, Jarek

We resolved that by creating the Dynamic Forms for Jira. You can conditionally set field value at the create screen and also make selected fields visible only if the defined conditions (like issue type or specific field value) are met.
-
Currently, it is not available in JWM. I encourage you to raise a request for that as we are gathering interest in that kind of project.
-
@Mauricio Neves You can prepopulate the content of Jira fields at the Create screen with Dynamic Forms for Jira created by our team. You will also gain a few additional features like abilities to set value based on condition, and conditional show/hide fields, making them required or read-only. Let me know if you need any…

@Possegger, Markus You can use an external plugin. I can suggest using our solution - Dynamic Forms for Jira for Cloud where you don't have to write a single line of code. It has a default value and the ability to conditionally set fields hidden/visible on a screen. If you need any help with configuration or overview our…

Hi @Adi Armoza , it is not exactly the case but I think that my company plugin can help you with that. I can suggest using Dynamic Forms for Jira where you can create Dynamic behaviours of Jira forms. There is an ability to conditionally show or hide a field based on selection from the previous field. That sounds like your…

Hi @Gemma FRENCH , you can use different third-party plugins. Checklist seems a good solution for DoD but I can also recommend my team plugin - Dynamic Forms for Jira. It allows you to set Default Value for most of the native fields. For example description field. You can add the DoD there or set a template for a proper…
-
You can do that for specific projects and still use only 1 custom field with an additional plugin for Jira. My team created Dynamic Forms for Jira for such purposes. You can book a demo with our support team to check the solution.
-
@Jamshaid We are already going to implement Bundled Fields in the Cloud version but we don't have an ETA yet. It is not a resolution of the ticket but please create a feature request for us at our service desk if you didn't already. It will help us to give it higher priority to our backlog. 🙌 Best regards, Jarek

@Anoop VK Yes. It is not possible for company-managed projects. You can add default value to custom fields but the system fields are not available.
-
@Anoop VK I will list all solutions here: * You can add additional text after creation with Jira automation. * You can use the additional CF with Default Value at create screen instead of the description and copy the value you typed with automation to the Description after creation. Then hide the additional CF at edit/view…
-
On Cloud, you can also achieve that with Dynamic Forms for Jira which as the name suggests is the main use case. ;) You can set the conditions on your existing fields. If you would need an overview of that one my team could provide you a demo session.

It is helpful. The pain of those is usually the problem with requirements traceability. In my opinion the matrix works best here.

@khalid @Test Account Since the original post, there were some changes in Jira API and our team created a Cloud version of Dynamic Forms for Jira which resolves the problem with conditional setting the field as required based on the value of other fields. It comes with a few additional features like Set Value, Default…
-
There are 2 native solutions. The first one is mentioned by @John Funk above and it works for company-managed projects. If you can use a team-managed project you can set Default Value for the description field in your project configuration. If you would like to use only the original Description field in company-managed…
-
@Saralie S. Good advice. Already changed that. :)
-
@Bill Sheboy I am already labelled as a marketplace partner so that wasn't any hidden advertisement, but sure I could also specify that regarding the linked app to be clear with that. Anyway, @valentino_castiglia If you need any demo or support our team can help you with that so you can set the Default Value where you need…
-
@valentino_castiglia You can add Default Value natively in team-managed projects. If you want to have the Default Value for a specific project and Issue Type, I recommend using Dynamic Forms for Jira.
-
It doesn't work that way anymore. I think Atlassian has changed something here.
-
At that time there where no such API from Atlassian. Currently, we have a solution and you can already set Default Values for native fields via plugin Dynamic Forms for Jira.
