I don't think this has anything to do with deleting a filter. I think they are looking for a JQL that filters out not only a specific epic, but it's children as well. If I had to do it, the JQL would look like: issuekey not in (EPC-123) AND ("Epic Link" not in (EPC-123) or or "Epic Link" is EMPTY) where EPC-123 is the…

Unfortunately, this isn't a Roadmaps issue, this is a Jira Software issue. Jira Software doesn't let you have another custom issue type that behaves like an Epic. You can kind of get around this, but it won't have the full functionality that an Epic does have. For more information, you can review this earlier thread asking…

@Julia I have my ACP-CA exam scheduled for next Friday. How will these changes impact those who have an exam scheduled but not taken yet? Would you suggest cancelling that exam and taking another? I was excited as the ACP-CA would have been my final exam for my Atlassian Certified Master status, but given these changes I…

Seriously, save for a few features, the feature set between DC and Server overlap a lot. Removing the Server Certs instead of just converting them to a DC Version seems like a terrible decision that will hurt more ACP's than it will help.

You're welcome!

If I had to guess, the context for the custom field is not set to include the issue type. Go to Custom Fields, find the offending field, click the Elipses and click "Contexts and default value" On the next page, click the gear: After you click the gear, you should have some options, including "Choose Applicable issue…

My first question is "Are you running the install as Admin?" That is to say, did you right click the installer and click "Run as Administrator?" (see picture) Assuming you are, and it's still failing, you might want to attempt a Zip install.…

With Jira Software Server, you can update to any version released on or before the date your Software Maintenance License expired. That is to say, if your Software Maintenance is still active, you can install any version released. If your Software Maintenance is not still active, I'd need more information about your…

If you are on Jira Software Server or Data Center, John is absolutely correct - this cannot be done without an Addon. However, on Jira Cloud, you have access to Automation for Jira, which can do this well enough. In fact, this App would be my recommendation on Server/DC as well. * On your Project Settings, go to Apps ->…

Doesn't look like it's possible. The best you can do as a workaround is create a custom link type for issues, but it won't behave the same way as an Epic on the boards. Reference: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWSERVER-7203 Another option to consider is the Structure App, which will allow you to create a larger…

There was a small stand of trees near our house growing up. Couldn't have had more than a dozen trees. Neighborhood kids would call it "the woods" and pretend it was our domain to rule over. We knew it wasn't an actual forest - those were nearby. It was just someplace for us all to get together, play/climb trees/whatever,…

So, before you get started, you must be a board administrator to be able to access the section you need. On your board, goto "Board -> Configure" as shown Then go to "Quick Filters" on the left hand sidebar Here, you can add your filter. Under name, you put "Open Issues", and under JQL, you have several options, depending…

Depending on the team's workflow, adding a clause the JQL clause "resolution is empty" might also make sense.

Unfortunately, traditional field-level permissions are not possible in Jira. There is an App I've heard of that did this, but it required to make changes to your Jira install - which might affect your support from Atlassian. I found this old request to add these kinds of permissions, but it was closed as won't do. Sorry.…

You will use a workflow scheme to associate different workflows with their respective issue types. You can find them by going to the Admin screen, then going to Issues -> Workflow Schemes. After you have your scheme setup, associate with a project to have the project use that issue type to workflow mapping.…

That sucks. As a best practice, I like to keep at least two admin accounts, that way if one leaves the company you still have another to do such tasks. As it stands, you will likely to contact Atlassian support. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/

You need to add the groups site-admins and administrators to the new admin, and remove them from your old admin's account. You can find details on how to do so here. https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/transfer-jira-or-confluence-account-ownership-to-another-user-691012069.html
