IMO this is a multi-factor problem. Sometimes it’s a skills issue. Certification isn't a testament of competence. We treat it as such, but that's a perception rather than reality. Knowing the framework is half the battle, diagnosing why the system isn’t working and knowing how to change it is the real job. Many Scrum…

I've had this issue with Asana connector. Ended up opening a ticket with Atlassian Support

Hi @FunnelsFlex I've written a couple of pieces on this topic, I hope you may find them helpful: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Jira-Cloud-Admins-articles/Third-Party-Automation-The-Ticking-Time-Bomb-in-Jira-Data-Center/ba-p/3174232 (I'm publishing second part of this next week)…

I agree with @Alex Koxaras -Relational- here If you're running the same jql, the only variable is permissions unless of course your jql has currentuser() function, but I feel like that would be too obvious

Yes, all of these features are available. Some might be tied to specific subscription tiers. SSO Integration requires Atlassian Guard in addition to JSM

yeah, I've just tested it and you're right. quick search of dev-1000 finds test-2000 my mistake

Hi @Krayne Porter Work items have an ID and a Key. ID acts as Primary Key in database terms. It's unique, static and we don't work with it in the UI. Key is more like a floating key, and while it is unique, it is tied to project/space and changes if you move the work item. While we use Key in the UI, system uses ID for…

@Sriramya Manokhar I recommend posting this as a Jira question in Jira group. This community is very helpful, and you will surely get responses from experienced individuals. Please remember to elaborate the challenge that your team is facing so that the community has sufficient details to come up with a relevant response.

Thanks for the mention in your highlights! I found a few interesting items I had missed during the month

Go to Settings > Spaces ([BASEURL]/jira/settings/projects/manage) this will lead you to Manage Spaces view. In the last, right-most column of this view you will see 'Space URL' column name. Click on those 3 dots to make the action menu appear and select 'Archive'

Hi Mateusz, I'm not aware of any way to disallow linking of resolved Epics, but you could do something alternative if you're keen on preventing the transition. 1) If you have scriptrunner, use a scriptrunner validator to prevent transitions of work items with a linked resolved epic. use a meaningful error message to let…

Great question and one that could probably spark a lot of discussion as to what's best. A lot of the answers really depend on what you want to get out of your devops. My initial thought is that your stack of Jira+Bitbucket+Confluence is not end-to-end in terms of DevOps products that Atlassian has. I think end-to-end using…

Additionally, have a look at the JCMA (Jira Cloud Migration Assistant) app. Atlassian have created this app to help you seamlessly move your out-of-the-box Jira data and configs into the cloud.
-
Hi Carl, Oh boy, the short answer is that you've got to check quite a bit of things. I'm writing a series of articles on DC to Cloud migration, and the instance assessment process would be the same for Server to Cloud. Here's my article on app cloud readiness…

There are two ways you can approach this: 1) Use a prefix in your comment such as [OVERAGE ALERT]:<Rest of Comment>. Modify your If condition to check both time tracking comparison, and jql below which returns records that don't have a comment with your prefix. The issue with this approach is that the jql is too loose.…

I think you definitely need to store org from P1 as a variable the syntax of the Additional Fields instruction might need some modification Project = P2 condition probably makes more sense on the branch than where I've placed it on the trigger try adding the variable creation step only into your automation and replace Edit…
-
Without seeing your automation, the following should work: trigger on 'Work item linked' add first condition to be either field based on jql based: project = P1 add second condition for linked work items of all link types that match jql: project = P2 add THEN step: create variable (orgname). specify smartfield…

Here's the official reference for both options, although I still think portal is the way to go. Mail handler: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/receive-requests-from-an-email-address/ Portal: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/set-up-and-manage-portal-access/

@Darin - Opus Guard - Appreciate you sharing this slide. It's prefect for my upcoming presentation to talk about importance of knowledge base governance, specifically with intention of using it as a data source for AI.

You could pull the data out into something like Google Sheets using Appscript, and do your comparisons and functions there if this is a recurring report you need and you're trying to avoid costs, this is an option and you can script your data comparison too. you'd need an api key to call /rest/api/3/search

to find global automations: for Jira cloud it is https://[orgname].atlassian.net/jira/settings/automation to get to it, go to Settings and select System Settings from the menu then look for 'Global Automations' in the left nav pane

Since you've mentioned JSM, my answer is specific to that: You can configure an email handler to create work items based on received emails. Users don't have to be authenticated, so any email sent to the designated mailbox will become a work item in JSM. Submitter can get a confirmation of receipt too. The limitation of…

To elaborate @Collista Lewingdon 's answer: * Press on 'Filters' in the left navigation pane * Find and select 'Search Work Items' * Right pane will be updated to show a search screen which allows using Basic filtering options, or JQL. You can toggle these by pressing Basic / JQL buttons. * Once you've configured your…
