300+ comments on here - lots of folks with questions! @Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting and I are doing a livestream in the morning, April 8th at 9am EST/8am CST, and we'll be happy to chat about some of these changes and try to answer questions live if you need any help figuring out what these changes mean for you and how to…

@Cristian Suarez you can have more than one board, but you can not have more than ten boards on the free plan.
-
What a great roundup!!
-
Thank you so much for making this @Alicia Filíu Birlanga !! It's a great tool!
-
@Raphael Figueiredo Gregório Camilo no need to rush, you've got plenty of time before the changes kick in! April 8th you just wont be able to add more people. (And if you do need to, you can enable a 30 day trial of premium) But to answer your question, yes the people in boards are part of the people in the workspace. Head…

Thanks for posting this @Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting , and thanks for your help in making this!! Hahah I love that we couldn't choose between "quick and simple" or "long winded with all the thoughts we could possibly share", so we did both 😂 Something for everyone!
-
@Jillian Hood i made this video a while ago so the inviting as many people as possible statement is before these new changes. So you will need to upgrade your workspace to a paid plan to invite more than 10 users to a board. Also, it will start being view only at the end of May... the April date is when you cannot add more…

@Brody Payne heya! i just took a look and its not working as consistently as it was before - i think some of the selectors might be changing. So i probably wouldn't recommend that anymore. Alternatively, you could create a feature request for defaulting the view on the timeline! https://trello.com/contact
-
@Suellen Parker yeah unfortunately not something you could do natively in Trello. I think you could use PixieBrix to do this, but it would definitely require some customization and building (and might be a bit brittle if Trello ever changes the selectors or you add/remove custom fields)
-
Woohoo! Let me know what you think and any lingering questions you have after reading it!
-
@Kori Sullivan there aren't any ads in trello, so i don't think the ad revenue is a concern. I agree it's frustrating when you're used to something and then it changes, and this will definitely impact folks. But personally, when I use a software for free I always have a backup plan because, I expect that either 1) at some…
-
You have to access it via desktop/browser, as far as I know it's not available in mobile.
-
I wrote this for work so you can ignore the PixieBrix bits, but the instructions for generating API key are there! https://docs.pixiebrix.com/integrations/trello/configure-trello-integration

Sorry i think i might have been confused by your original question. If your workspace is a premium workspace (you upgraded it) and you paid for yourself in it, and then added another member to your workspace (not just a board in your workspace), then you would be charged for them. Because premium workspaces charge per each…
-
@Ava Hill do you see any of these options?
-
@Barbara Barretta my undestanding is that the people you have set to view a boards will always be able to view it, editing will just be disabled. So if your board is public, anyone can view it, and if it's private but you've invited folks outside your workspace they'll be able to view it but no one will be able to edit the…

@Darshan Hiranandani welcome to the community! How do you use Trello?
-
@Eljatib, Qamar (DUB-UMW) check the board settings or with an admin on the board. There's a setting where you can limit who has access to comment on a card, even if they're a member of the board:
-
@Emma Monks guests still count towards the collaborator limit, a guest just means someone that is part of boards but not officially a workspace member. For instance, if i create a workspace, and i add you to a board in that workspace but not to the workspace, you're a guest. If i add you as a workspace member, you're part…
-
@Antonio Rodriguez unfortunately, there's no way to "undo" that. If you're wanting to undo things on a regular basis, you might want to look at Rewind's Backups for Trello which will let you revert boards back to a previous state. You can also builds some automation with that will "log" additional activity to the card…
-
@Arbibi hah no worries! Lots of things to do in there, can be hard to miss. Glad you found it! Happy automating!
-
Thanks for putting this together @Mike - Dreamsuite Consulting ! It's a really helpful analysis to see how Trello stacks up against the others. I've always found Trello's free plan to be fairly generous, and it's nice to see that even with the recent changes, it's still fairly generous.

@Lisa Daly Lehmann > Guests that are only on one board are free on all of Trello's paid plans: https://support.atlassian.com/trello/docs/how-billing-works-with-trello-premium-and-standard/ So you pay $5 for yourself in an upgraded workspace, and then invite unlimited amount of people to a board and you don't pay for them.…
-
@dave_anderson you should be able to select Standard from the Upgrade Workspace setting page
-
@Roman happy to help! And that might be something you need to reach out to support about - https://trello.com/contact . I'm not really sure what your options are if you can't access a board in your workspace, but I assume they'll be able to help you sort that out. I also have a suspicion that this might be the type of…
-
@Lisa Daly Lehmann it may not cost as much as you think - Atlassian is going to release some tools that will help you figure out exactly how many collaborators you have. And you can have as many workspaces as you want, as long as you have less than 10 boards in there. Typically one has multiple workspaces to avoid having…
-
@Roman you would have to pay $5/mo for each user that you wanted to be on multiple boards. So if you have two boards and 10 people on both of those two boards, you'd pay $50/mo for those 10 people. But if you have 20 people for instance on just one of those boards, you'd only have to pay $5/mo for yourself. Does that make…
-
@Roman i believe that is correct - as long as none of those 20 members are on more than one board and you are "hosting" those boards (aka you are the only workspace member and you upgrade that your user to paid), then yes, you should be able to have those 40 unique folks in two different boards and only have to pay…
