Hi @Rick Westbrock Yes, the {{webResponse}} smart value can be used in other web requests in the same rule. But what @Venkat was asking for was a way to store an Oauth token so that it could be used in other rules. That means storing it somewhere persistent, but also secure.

Hey @Casey Enderlein - glad this worked! Would appreciate if you can Accept this answer.

Doing some Googling, I found an interesting approach to this problem by @Brandon Davies , using Assets to manage and store the tokens. * The Secure Way to Manage OAuth API requests in Jira Automation The key is: For security reasons, definitely remember to limit the access to the schema that this object resides in. You can…

Hi @Casey Enderlein - I believe what you want for #1 (how to mention the project lead in a comment) is: [~accountid:{{triggerIssue.project.lead.accountId}}] For #2, you should just be able to do: [~accountId:abcd-1234-abcd-1234] (where abcd-1234-abcd-1234 is the account ID of the user you want mentioned every time).

Yep, Issue Properties, Project Properties, these are all fine places to store non-sensitive data. But IF YOU ARE TEMPTED to put an OAuth token in there, you should be aware that any user who has view access on the issue or project, can view all associated properties via the REST API. Examples:…

Apparently though, Trusted Users are supposed to be going away, per https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/what-are-trusted-users-1155494641.html Where at the top of that page it says: The role "trusted" has been discontinued for the improved user management experience. If your site uses the new interface, you…

I'm 100% necroposting, but this is the #5 Google result for: jira trusted users I recently ran into this issue: In case you might have to prove to somebody (say like, an auditor) that that Trusted Users group does not actually contain any users, you can access the members via the API:…
-
Oh oh, and there's documentation about Trusted Users here: * What are trusted users? It should be noted that at the top of that page it says: The role "trusted" has been discontinued for the improved user management experience. If your site uses the new interface, you are not able to assign users the trusted role. And that…

Ohey, in case you might have to prove to somebody (say like, an auditor) that that Trusted Users group does not actually contain any users, you can access the members via the API: https://YOURSITE.atlassian.net/rest/api/2/group?groupname=trusted-users-abcd1234-xxxxx-xxxxxx And you could compare that to another group that…

As of today, product admins can choose which type of Components should be set on any new Jira Software projects on their site. We think every software team can benefit from Compass (including its component catalog,) but we also understand that some teams might not be ready to switch over yet. See instructions on how to set…

There's a great tutorial on how to use the API to lookup an account ID from an email address here: Populate a user picker field from the description field

Hey Bill. Yeah I asked somebody to mark my answer as correct as a quick review of the thread led me to believe we had figured this out. But as I see this answer and read ALL the threads I see how it can look like I'm casting aspersions on your assertion that the feature was there. That was wrong of me, and I apologize. I…

Oh neat! It almost works! So yeah, the API is showing that it NESTED the codeBlock into an orderedList. Now I wonder what this looks like in Automation... HUH when I output {{issue.description}} to the audit log, I see: {quote}Here is some code I hope # {code:none}This is some code And some other code{code} Nope{quote}…

@Eric Gagnon Your banner solution sounds great. Would love if you could share your Javascript. Oof yeah, we are finally migrating this weekend and I'm definitely worried about conversion issues. It would be _sweet_ if there was some way to embed a link to the "original" from Cloud. (We are also keeping around a read-only…

The question would be could you do this with Automation: {quote}<br>This is quoted text<br> {code:xml} <test> <another tag="attribute"/> </test> {code}<br>{quote} And the answer is.... nope. I made an Automation Rule to try to put this into a Description, and got this:

Hi @Ram Kumar Aravindakshan _Adaptavist_ welp, I could not replicate this at all. No numbered list showed up when I did the following: Steps I tried: * Insert Quote * Insert Code snippet Results: I feel like this might be similar to Confluence, which doesn't allow nested macros? You can look at how Jira stores the data by…

Hey @Jennifer Luo so I completely removed cookies from the situation by using curl, and once again, can confirm that I don't think cookies have anything to do with it. curl --location 'https://MYSITE.atlassian.net/gateway/api/automation/internal-api/jira/MYCLOUDSITEID/pro/rest/GLOBAL/rule/export' --user MYEMAIL:MYTOKEN…

I'm not supposed to revive old posts (necroposting), but this came up when I was searching for a relatively NEW feature that is a much better way to implement secure webhooks vs my home-brewed solution: From Atlassian Cloud changes Feb 26 to Mar 4, 2024: Enhanced security for webhooks [NEW THIS WEEK] We’re pleased to…
-
Hi @Jennifer Luo - it looks like you're trying to make a call to get a specific Rule by rule ID: * {{url}}/gateway/api/automation/internal-api/jira/:cloudld/pro/rest/GLOBAL/rule/:ruleld I don't think I've ever explored trying to do that programmatically. Rather, the endpoints I've been exploring are to download ALL the…

Hi @Constance Hua I poked around in our Sandbox and got the same error. I poked around further found that the error pages are for something new called Platform Experiences that is currently in Early Access. Seems like it may at some point be replacing Atlas: Q7. What if I’m a current Atlas customer, can I still opt in to…

Hey @Andy Gladstone - after all my blabbering about Atlassian, my wife came up with what I think is a good question/topic to pose to the Community, so can I volunteer to be an alternate in case somebody can't make their assigned date? Thanks!

Hi @Susan Waldrip - I figured out what app you had installed because I'm good at Googling :-) https://www.google.com/search?q=jira+%22Workflow+User+Guide%22 The app's listing in the Marketplace is the #2 search result after, ironically, this question. :-)

Hi Kishor - I'm not sure which articles you looked at, but this one is pretty comprehensive: * Automation email It talks about both creating custom notifications using Automation, as well as the option to use the SLA functionality. There's a lot of great links there, but I will highlight a particular rule in Jira's…

Hi - I believe if you check your Apps, you'll see that you have this installed: Smart Jira Configuration(formerly Smart Project Config Docs) Huh, watching this YouTube demo, that looks kind of neat: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rufb4xMadbE
-
So I just tested. After enabling "Calendar Sync" in the Atlassian Events app settings, removing and adding sessions in the app were impressively quickly synced to my Google Calendar. Similarly, a change on the website (https://events.atlassian.com/team/sessions) was synced to the app (I did have to close and reopen it),…

Huh, that's odd. Are there any other Edit operations in your rule? If you can share a screenshot of your rule, we would be able to see if there's anything that looks awry. But without that, I would look at a few things: Issue history - is it showing just a single entry like: Automation for Jira updated the Labels March 7,…
-
For the Labels fields, if you click the [...] and choose ADDREMOVE, you should see two fields: Values to add, and Values to remove, as in this this image from @Trudy P Claspill's post: Are you seeing that? And you're only putting labels you want to add under Values to add?
-
My last answer for tonight - I promise! Your question got me thinking about how nice it would be to get just what you asked, an iCalendar file with just your selected sessions that could be imported into the calendar app of your choice, Google Calendar, Outlook, Apple Calendar, Lotus Notes (haha j/k). Anyways, I was…
-
Oh! There's one other way to get printable(ish) list of all your sessions. Check out your invoice: https://events.atlassian.com/team/invoice It's kinda goofy, and I guess if you have something that can edit PDFs, you could remove the prices. (And yes, I got a free pass to Team as a Community Leader.)

Ok, fairly confident my data is now updated based on scrape of official website run this morning (20240425-0900 PDT) So here's a neat thing about taking daily snapshots. You get to see what's new. These sessions were added in the last 10 days: Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 4:30 PMEdward Jones – Transformation lessons…
