Great work @Trudy P Claspill! Maybe some day we'll have funds for Guard Premium to get this feature. Or more likely a lawyer somewhere will look at our instance and say "Whoa! You need Data Classification NOW!" Interesting to hear that policies can actually DO something now (prevent anonymous access, prevent export)…

Hi @HAEGELIN Sacha! You bring up excellent points! So here's the thing. My organization gets the same features as everybody else who is on the Release and Preview Tracks. Here's how I know. On admin.atlassian.com when I go to Release tracks as I've documented here and look at these screens: I took a peek under the covers…

I was excited to share this post: New Feature: Formula Custom Fields in Jira Cloud! Then my colleague pointed out it is only available for Team-managed Projects. :-P And then I just checked and: * The scope of a formula will be within a single work item. * Formulas cannot be run across work items. * For example, you can’t…

This is great news Owen. I see you've added a comment to AI-1153 - Hide specific connectors from Atlassian Cloud Will you also be updating ROVO-183 - Ability for org admin to enable/disable smart link connectors for Rovo? Thanks!
-
@Josh So. Many. Opportunities. But will Atlassian see the value? Meh. I mean, Community Forums is now their official/unofficial location for announcing/documenting features, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But speaking of Continuous Releases: I would be remiss if I did not mention that @Jens Schumacher - Released_so created an unofficial…

Hi @Sami Shaik - ok, I've set up a form to request access to the space: * Request access (Oh god, I have a request tracker.)
-
One last comment - I'm also going back through old release notes and copy/pasting those straight from the emails. So no extra formatting/commentary, but at least there will be an archive: * Original Release Notes (Copy/Pasted from Emails) We migrated to Cloud at the beginning of 2024, so I only have release notes going…
-
Some commentary - why doesn't Atlassian post these release notes on a public site? Why are they organized so poorly? Clearly Atlassian knows how to create good release notes. They’ve been doing it for their on-prem products for decades: * Jira Software release notes * Jira Software 11.2.x release notes Anyways, the purpose…

For the upcoming Jan 13, 2026 Jira Release I've not spent a lot of time reviewing the notes, but MAN, they sure did hit their December OKRs with this list of features: Search Filter work items by team in basic search Assignee name appears in work item search results Filter work types by type Search for work that you've…

Oooh, thanks @Stiltsoft support I did not think about using Spreadsheet from Table. That might be a good workaround!
-
@Bill Sheboy I will pitch this in here (since it's too late for an official submission) for a Team session: You and me (or some other more accomplished Automation rule writers) on stage with our laptops, a microphone out in the audience, asking for people to step up and give suggestions of rules they need written. We try…
-
Great work as always @Bill Sheboy - super common question round these parts!
-
@Michiel Schuijer it's crazy to me that Atlassian decided it was a good idea to allow duplicate team names. In what kind of company is that a good idea?
-
OH, apologies for the late responses: YES, @Rebekka Heilmann _viadee_ this should've been an article - thanks for moving it. YES, @Bill Sheboy , Atlassian needs to do better. Let's see, hm? * And sigh, YES @Dr Valeri Colon _Connect Centric_ I guess I'm that guy. There's a reason this is my avatar in Slack: P.S. BTW, filing…

Thanks to @M Amine for liking this post, because I now realize I forgot to follow-up on this, bad me! Way back in October I ALSO filed a ticket complaining about this, and the Support AI bot suggested I vote and follow these tickets: AI-1153 - Hide specific connectors from Atlassian Cloud ROVO-183 - Ability for org admin…

I'm not a fan. I started getting these requests last month, and realized I had missed the feature in the "Bundled changes for your product Jira" email we received on Oct 17, 2025 because for some reason it was in the "Jira Product Discovery" section, which we do not use *: We restrict projects for a reason - we have…
-
Hey @Ayush Pathak ! @Trudy P Claspill very ably and accurately answered your question back in May, but we thought you might want to know that since that time, Atlassian has indeed introduced Service Accounts (caveat: unless you have Atlassian Guard Standard or an Enterprise subscription, you only get FIVE of these.) These…

Ahhhh, hahaha, if only we'd had this advice (along with a PM or three) when we did our migration. Also, more time.
-
Oh, and because a backup is only useful if you can restore it, I just tested a modestly sized (80MB) space to a test site, and it restored PERFECTLY, attachments and all. I'm now pondering using this as a backup strategy. :-}
-
OH I have an even better suggestion, which is free: Write a Python script that uses the Atlassian Python API's get_space_export method. With a little help from Cursor.ai I came up with this: #!/usr/bin/env python3 import requests from atlassian.confluence import Confluence from credentials import HOSTNAME, USERNAME, TOKEN…
-
Oh yeah, @Jayesh Raghuvanshi's suggestion is a good one, because Appfire CLI is using the same process as above to do its magic. The nice thing about paying for an app is that if/when Atlassian changes the APIs and breaks things, Appfire (should) get to fixing it pretty quickly. Especially if you're a paying customer and…
-
Oh boy, I think I went down this rabbit hole a while ago, using Chrome Developer Tools to watch what was happening after manually kicking off a Space Export from the UI. I also took a peek at what Appfire's Confluence CLI is doing under the covers (that's the first workaround that @Tomislav Tobijas referenced from…
-
@Aaron Morris this is amazing work. Can I ask you and @Matt Smith how big your backup files are? Or I guess in Storage, how much space are your instances using? Our usage is apparently (but understandably) way too big to create a Zipped XML file: * Jira Premium - 7.9 TB of unlimited GB used * Confluence Premium - 1.9 TB of…

Follow-up to @David Mannila's question: January 2026-March 2026 is 90 days. Does this mean you will be rolling out this change over those 90 days? For users on Bundled Track, can we get a more precise date for when this will start happening?
-
Hey @Marcus Rehbock and @April Chi I was excited to re-find this thread and discover that the endpoint appears to work for organizations on Original User Management now! But... is there a reason the API doesn't allow setting displayName? It's a bit annoying that the Team is named by the Group ID. I've even tried…
-
I know I know I'm necro-posting, but this question still popped up in a Google search for: sync teams to groups atlassian And the great news is, as of March 2025 you CAN sync Entra / SCIM (and even Microsoft Graph) provisioned groups with Atlassian Teams: * Sync team members with SCIM user provisioning *…
-
@James Rickards _SN_ -- I 100% agree that syncing nested Azure Entra groups is super-useful. It's why we went to the extra work of switching from SCIM to Azure AD for Nested Groups, which uses Microsoft Graph to provision users. And with the introduction of SCIM-synced Teams you can now sync specific Entra groups to…

WHOOPS, MY BAD! I got totally confused. For some reason I thought this was the somehow incorporating Reporting Lines (which is like organizational hierarchy) into Teams. Reporting lines (basically your Org Chart based on your Manager) are described here: Get an accurate view of your org's work - You can now filter projects…

A tiny bit more details on the new API options for Live Docs: https://community.developer.atlassian.com/t/please-test-update-your-confluence-cloud-apps-to-function-in-live-docs-by-may-30-2025/89849#p-197528-apis-7

OH! A better, non-janky solution, rather than relying on unofficial/undocumented API endpoints, would be to ask the mailto.wiki developers CraftCoders to utilize the new(ish) subtype option in the Page Create API, setting it to live. Then directly from mailto.wiki you would be able choose whether emails should be converted…
