In retrospect, perhaps explicitly subscribing to the Calendar (again, you could have a page that links to this) might be better, as I forgot that there's a common issue of people getting notifications about Calendars from spaces/pages they are watching, and the notification does not inform them what space/page contains the…

Hi @Devender Singh - it looks like there's an open request for Calendar integration with Automation for Confluence: * CONFCLOUD-75074 - Automation for confluence to integrate with Team calendar But an easy "hack" to accomplishing what you want might be to embed a Team Calendar on a page, and then have your team members…

Hi @Jonathan Chatfield ! The advice and template from @Kalyan Sattaluri looks spot on. One thing to add: I have looked through multiple threads and got a successful email to send to me on any tasks that have been updated since the last search was done. I want to see all the unresolved tasks even if it repeats itself. The…

@viyer you wrote: The bulkEditMultiSelectFieldOption was added to mimic the existing Bulk Edit experience where users could provide the options to ADD, REPLACE, REMOVE, or REMOVE_ALL for bulk edits(see the screenshot below) ... To provide inputs for multipleSelectFields, simply add multiple optionIds inside of options like…

Hi @viyer - Get bulk editable fields is a read only query - so it is supposed to be a GET REST call. Well, a POST doesn't actually mean it has to write data. I question why you're using GET because you'll end up with incredibly huge URLs (1000 issue keys) and additionally those will show up in your server/proxy/HTTP logs,…

@Jeshua I'm really happy to hear that you got things working! Yeah, the API key vs token thing is tricky.
-
Hi @Ali Erdogan - glad I could provide you the information. I'd appreciate if you could Accept my answer if you found it satisfactory. Thanks!

Hi @Farhaad_n - yeah, I would've thought NGINX would properly handle multiple hostnames via the headers, (well, since HTTP 1.1), but I found a comment from Atlassian's @Jeffery Xie here: * CONFSERVER-90912 - Failed to create Application Link between Crowd & Confluence 7.19.11 The behaviour described in this issue is as…
-
Hi @Matthew Schrader - so looking at your code, I only can only see one API call: issues = jira.search_issues(f'assignee={username} AND status = "Open"') Jira's API doesn't spawn or require multiple calls unless your users have more than 100 open issues assigned to them. In that case, you're going to have to implement…

Hi @Farhaad_n - I think this is what you are running into: Application Link configuration from Jira to Confluence fails with URL must not point to localhost or restricted IPs Quoting from there: Cause With AppLink 9.1.x there is a restriction when trying to configure the Application Link between Confluence and Jira hosted…

Hi @Ali Erdogan - there's an old but very relevant discussion about this here: * How can I use `rest/api/content` to download all the 800k pages of my Confluence wiki without timing out? Warning, it's Reddit, so it's a frank discussion. :-} But yeah, the upshot is that Confluence API (and especially Cloud Confluence) is…

Hey @Jeshua - ah yeah, so Confluence Access is gated by groups listed under "Product Access" for your site, so assuming those are not managed groups (connected to your IdP), then your method is correct. (So if you're removing user from all-users and confluence-users) that should remove their Confluence access.) Anyways,…

Hi @Akshay Johri - would this address the issue where users who have been Deactivated in the IdP (in our case Azure AD) end up showing up on Confluence pages they created as "Former user (Deleted)"? That issue really annoyed me and a lot of my users, and apparently the only way to prevent this is to "reactivate them (or…
-
Hey @Mandeep Singh - so I've been playing with the API and it does seem quite nice. I was surprised that the Get bulk editable fields operation used GET instead of POST, but curl didn't seem to mind 1000 issue keys in the URL, and neither did the API endpoint. Although when I tried to give it 3918 issue keys, it balked…

Oh man. I feel like this could be a whole article. Here's some top-of-mind takeaways: Product Access Atlassian sets up a bunch of default groups for Product Access, Admin, etc etc. * Default groups and permissions You don't have to use these, although it probably makes your life easier. However if you're migrating from DC,…

Super interesting question and idea for a JIT process, @Kelvin Chua. And I appreciate your detailed answer @Kieren _SmolSoftware_ Your product sounds compelling. In our case, as we were migrating from Data Center to Cloud, we switched from using changed Atlassian default groups for Product Access to the same groups…

Hi there! So for updating Component and Version (multipleVersionPickerFields and multiselectComponents), there is bulkEditMultiSelectFieldOption: * Options include ADD, REPLACE, REMOVE, or REMOVE_ALL for bulk edits. But for some reason, this is unavailable for multipleSelectFields. Can you please explain when this option…

Welp, I'm resorting to just doing it manually. Here's my process: acli -a getProjectList --file projectlist.txt You then need to edit projectlist.txt and change the header field "Key" to "project" and then run: acli -a runFromCSV --file projectlist.txt --common "-a getProjectRoleActorList --role \"Roku\" --select \"5:Roku…
-
ARGH. Gotta love having to brute force the REST API and then getting blocked: Client error: Invalid request: java.net.SocketException: Operation timed out Client error: 1 actions failed, 253 actions were successful Looks like I'm gonna have to break my list of Projects into chunks. *SIGH*. Maybe I can come up with a SQL…
-
Ugh, yeah, ok so with 799 projects, this is gonna take a while, but it seems to be working: acli -a runFromProjectList --common "-a getProjectRoleActorList --project \"@project@\" --role \"Roku\" --select \"5:Roku Users\" --file roku-user-roles.txt --append" Credit to @Michael Kuhl {Appfire} for the showing me that…

Hi @Simha Gontmaher - your rule does not look like mine: RewriteMap pageids "txt:/etc/httpd/pageids.txt" RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} "^/pages/viewpage.action$" RewriteCond %{QUERY_STRING} pageId=(.*) RewriteRule . ${cloudhost}${pageids:%1|/wiki/spaces/TEST/pages/44073006/Migrated+Confluence+Page+Not+Found}? So over in https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-10325 (where I might be banned?) @brian.g wrote: I just recieved a potential ray of hope . Hey Jeff! Ooof, yeah, --simulate AND a Sandbox are both great tools. CLI and scripts are super-powerful, but also super-dangerous, so you always want to test test test.
-
Ohey @Jeff Gunawan and OH NO! Did you NOT use "--simulate" in the delete command first? You're talking about these commands right? Find Issue Type Schemes with no associated projects acli --action getIssueTypeSchemeList --outputFormat 999 \ --select "Projects:.+" --options negative \ --file deleteableissuetypeschemes.csv…

My sense is that this is going to be problematic as long as Atlassian insists on being ... what's the right word... a shadow IdP? That is, THEY are the ones dictating who "owns" a domain, so if ACME.COM has not signed up for Atlassian Cloud and claimed their domain, they don't want to allow YOURCOMPANY.COM to delegate…
-
Great question - I don't think Atlassian has ever had a definitive answer about the B2B that we also wanted way back when: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Atlassian-Guard/Will-Atlassian-Access-work-for-B2B-Guest-users-in-our-Azure-AD/qaq-p/1898496 There's discussion in there about External User Security and 2FA, but I…

Thanks for tagging me @Bill Sheboy (and editing it to point to the correct account!). Ah yeah, that was a fun article to write. But now that I look back on it... because I was a little too wordy as usual, let me try to summarize and add a bit. You'll need to * Export your rules as JSON * Export your Projects and Project…

Cool! I'd say that using add without removing potential duplicates doesn't "handle" de-duping so much as just ignores the issue entirely and (potentially) wastes extra cycles/calls adding labels that are already there. Using the .distinct to filter out dupes prevents those extra cycles/calls from happening at all.
-
Hey @jeremyn glad you got it working! Yeah, I was just saying that in my example, you would be adding the 24-Z4 label "twice", but in retrospect, because labels are unique, having that duplicate add shouldn't be a problem.
-
Man, I just knew Bill would beat me to the punch here. :-} The one thing I have to add is that you might want to add a .distinct when you get those child labels into a list, to cover this possible case: Child 1: [24-Z1, 24-Z2, 24-Z4] Child 2: [24-Z2, 24-Z3, 24-Z4] Where if somebody removes 24-Z2 from Child 2 there's a…
