Hi @Limor Segal Shevah - I am not a maintainer of either the jira nor the atlassian-python-api packages, but I do see recent updates to both of those packages from skumar36-atlassian * jira: [JIRA] Add search/jql and search/approximate-count APIs support for Jira Cloud (#1513) * atlassian-python-api: enhancement: Add…

Or you know, just use @Bill Sheboy 's answer up above. Very complete. Nice work Bill!

Oh, but you probably want a FIX, not just why your rule doesn't work. Maybe do a Lookup for Linked Issues of Type Block, and THEN you can set ABC-3's Favorite Color to be: {{lookupIssues."Favorite Color"}} Or maybe {{lookupIssues."Favorite Color".join(",")}} I'd play with that.
-
Hi @Sara Beyer - Unfortunately I think it's because Automation runs branches in parallel. So it tries to "add" the Favorite Colors from tickets ABC-1 and ABC-2 at the same time, and that leads to unpredictable results. Does that sound about right, @Bill Sheboy ?

@David Nickell so it's not a REST endpoint, but there is an endpoint that will get you the XML of a workflow. Of course converting it to a graphical representation is considerably more difficult. The endpoint is: YOURSITE/secure/admin/workflows/ViewWorkflowXml.jspa?workflowMode=live&workflowName=WORKFLOWNAME And your…

Holy crap. Your dashboards are amazing. Going to dig into this! Thank you for sharing!
-
Hi @Marc -Devoteam- - can I suggest this endpoint: https://YOURSITE.atlassian.net/wiki/rest/jira-metadata/1.0/metadata?pageId=YOURPAGEIDThat should return the Jira Issues in the breadcrumbs. (Although there are issues with the Jira Issues breadcrumb if issues are later unlinked from Confluence pages: * Confluence 'JIRA…

Oh look, there was an article about this posted 4 days before mine from @Marcel Caroly * Future proofing Jira Expressions following the release of the new workflow transition experience Marcel has some good tips in his article. Although man, this kind of blows my mind, as I never got to the parts of the Jira Expressions…

Yikes, thanks for the morning scare, @Diane Logsdon ! Ok, so I don't the new nav on my Production Premium instance (and I'm sure my users would've been screaming about it on Slack if that was the case), but I do see this new banner on my Sandbox. Finally! That link takes me…
-
Ah thanks @Miriam Hopton. I do not have that, but I'm on Premium. Here's what I see under "Administration / Configuration / New features": Since your Confluence is on Standard, then that might explain why you already got it. Rollout for Standard sites apparently started on March 17, 2025 randomly, which is always the best…
-
Can y'all show where your setting to enable it is in Confluence (also, are you on Premium or Enterprise? In a Sandbox?) I'm not seeing it in my Premium Sandbox, but maybe I just don't know where to look.

I am, in fact, my own worst editor, or rather, man, I need an editor. Here's I hope a "boiling down" of kind of what went on up there. WHEW. In my buzzing, frazzled, exhausted state after I had literally just gotten off the plane from Team, I started out wanting to share how I was actually really excited about and proud of…

Ok, now let's remove the original post and just analyze comments! Heh. Here's the full text. Oooh, Wiki Markup - what a throwback, AI! ### Terminology Change Concerns - Users express confusion and dissatisfaction with the change from "products" to "apps." - Concerns about the lack of distinction between Atlassian apps and…
-
@Jon Wilson alas, no Summarize button here. But with a bit of copy and pasting, we can ask Atlassian (Intelligence)!
-
@Bryan Guffey I dunno man. Call me pessimistic (HA), but... I skim the descriptions of sessions in my handy-dandy spreadsheet view, and it's a very heavy on pitches for case studies about additional add-ons (oh I'm sorry, Apps), like: Compass, Focus, Align, Rovo (sure sure, free, but for how long), Jira Product Discovery,…

Hi @Flavio Di Transo - you are probably running into what I wrote about here: * Workflow Validators and Conditions might break soon if you use custom Jira Expressions Adaptavist has written an excellent guide with even more examples, which is where I stole mine, so you definitely want to check that out as well: *…

But @Dave LIAO don't you already know everyone? Everytime I hang out with you it certainly seems that way! 😆
-
Ah thanks for commenting @Thorsten Letschert _Decadis AG_ because that reminds me that I FORGOT to try to find the makers of Cloud Workflows, Power Scripts, JMWE, and ScriptRunner to ask them: I know that Conditions and Validators have come a long way (baby) since Nov 2022 when I wrote Jira Expressions - But Why? In the…

OOF, I keep missing the point. Yes. Braindates are awesome. But they're small. PUT THESE ON THE BIG STAGE. I hosted a Braindate and it was awesome. Deep technical dives, people sharing excellent not even "hacks" but like production-ready implementations of using Assets in JSM for managing Jira and Confluence configurations…

OH OH, and one of the points I originally wanted to make was, I really really liked the work @Lauren Wolf and team did to add the QR Code Scanner to the top of the main page so that not only were we just a potential lead to vendors and partners, WE could be making connections to people (without having to remember their…

So yay. Now that this has launched, I can say that I got a sneak preview of this in a usability session about something else and my feedback was "Oh god, no, please no." For all of the reasons y'all have already stated. Funny story from the Team 25 expo floor: A/C in Anaheim Convention Center was ON BLAST. I saw a big…
-
@Diane Logsdon Yeah, I can't remember where I read that Nav was coming to Jira first, but I recently saw this announcement in the Confluence forums, so I guess they're trying to do it all at once? (Just in time for the conference!?) * Confluence’s new navigation is here! I 100% agree that I would prefer to let users OPT-IN…
-
@Diane Logsdon and @Don Arsenault as we await Atlassian's official enablement materials, I've created ugly but functional screenshots and a slide deck that I've shared in this discussion: * Have your say: What enablement materials would best help your teams adjust to the new navigation?
-
@_A9_ William Kennedy you should set up a Braindate! Sounds like a few of us would attend: https://team25.braindate.com/

Ha! When I read this, this came to mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoAzpa1x7jU

Hi - I see this change in Continuous Release Track documented here in Atlassian Cloud changes Mar 24 to Mar 31, 2025 But I don't see it on our instance that is on the Bundled Release Track. Nor do I see it on our instance that is on the Preview Release Track. Nor was this change documented in the "Bundled changes for your…

As I posted over here: Now, to be fair, @Arbaaz Gowher does include a very short note about this in the original post: * Workflow validators and post functions: The new issue transition experience uses REST v3 API with ADF format instead of REST v2 API with Plain String format. This change primarily affects workflow…

Ooof, I also got that email @Dani Lucas , and I think it says April 2025, not April 25th, although I don't think that's much better in light of the outstanding issues that still exist with this rollout. (Default comment visibility and Asset fields.) But what really freaked me out about that email was that Workflow…

Fitz and the Tantrums playing Bash? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2V6yjjPbX0 (Ha, if this song sounds familiar it's also been used in commercials for Toyota, Fiat, and Walmart Toys.) The band is GREAT fun live though. It's gonna be a blast!

Hey thanks! This Python script had just what I was looking for. Except... I needed it for Cloud. Luckily I think it will work with this one minor change: export_url = f"{jira_url}/secure/admin/workflows/ViewWorkflowXml.jspa?workflowMode=live&workflowName={workflow_name}"
