An alternative (and I appreciate that this is a workaround) would be to set dates for the issues using the date fields in the plan rather than dragging and dropping the issues on the timeline. The date picker for those fields will clearly indicate where the weekends are. Regards, Dave

No worries @Dina M - happy to have helped!

Hi @David Boudreault, At the moment this isn't something that is possible but was actually something that one of our engineers investigated during some recent "20%" innovation time. The proposal was to provide an additional option on the bulk change date action that allows you to move start and/or end dates forwards or…

Hi @Lukas Lyon Thanks for asking this question. Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment in Advanced Roadmaps and we currently have no plans to implement something like this. I do understand the reasoning behind the suggestion here but this arguably goes against the ethos behind the changes we made to the old "Live…

The screenshot you've shown is of the standard Roadmap tool, you need to be using the Advanced Roadmaps tool that comes with Jira Premium. Confusingly you access the Advanced Roadmaps from the "Plans" menu on the top navigation bar. From there you can create a new plan that will prompt you for the projects / boards / JQL…

Hey @Mike Lemmon, This isn't actually something we've done (our team doesn't do story mapping) but I am interested in understanding what your ideal would be in this situation? And how you'd want story mapping to integrate with Advanced Roadmaps? I did notice that there are existing marketplace applications for story…

Thanks for confirming @Brandon Bush - I can't make any promises as to when we'll get this feature implemented but I'll do my best to get it into our roadmap. With regards to your second suggestion, IIRC this was something we considered but in the end decided to only show the count of immediate children. This decision was…

Thanks for sharing that information @Meital Adir - it's incredibly helpful for us!

When you click on that "View sprint in Jira" link (shown in the last screenshot) it should take you the active sprint, from there click on the "Backlog" and it should show you all the sprints... can you confirm that "Sprint 5" is not showing immediately after the active sprint? If it isn't then I'd definitely suggest…

No worries @Daniel Starkey - very happy to help!

No worries @Anita Cacic - very happy to help, sorry for any confusion I caused with my earlier responses!

Thanks for sharing this additional information @Chris Miller - it's incredibly helpful and I'll pass this onto our design team for consideration. Regards, Dave

Hi @Andries Becker, I agree with @Vinod Ramadoss that Advanced Roadmaps sounds like it will meet your needs, however it's worth noting that Advanced Roadmaps doesn't currently support Next-Gen projects (only Classic Projects) - I thought it worth calling this out as you haven't mentioned what project types you're using.…
-
Hi @Dina M, It might be that you've not configured your "Commerce A" team to be associated with the correct issue source (i.e. board) that the active sprint appears on. Looking at the screenshot it would seem like you have that team associated with a board of some description (because of all the projected sprints) but not…

It looks like @Mark Davies has provided some good links, but I'd also suggest this as another one as it shows how the releases appear on the Advanced Roadmaps timeline: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jiraportfolioserver/monitoring-releases-967895276.html

Worth pointing out that at the moment Advanced Roadmaps does not support Next-Gen projects (it's only possible to add additional hierarchy levels for Classic Projects). However, there is a workaround with hierarchy worth sharing. You can rename hierarchy levels and place additional issue types in them. So for example you…

Hi @Joelle Güfel, As @elizabeth_jones there is a roll-up functionality, however this is only shown on issue rows and not on the group heading (which is what I think you're after?). The ability to roll-up data to the group heading is something we've heard quite often but is not something that we have prioritised to…
-
Hi @Anita Cacic, I asked around and this is actually something that goes back many years (before most of the current team started working on Portfolio / Advanced Roadmaps). The most likely reason is one of expediency / simplicity. There is no reason why we wouldn't make the change to additionally set the Original Estimate…
-
Hi @a.nilssonladner , At the moment this isn't possible and isn't something that we're planning on adding. I'd love to know more about why you'd like to see the visualisation of hierarchy like this though? My assumption is that it gives you a good overview of the hierarchy of work in an umbrella or family history style…
-
Hi @Daniel Starkey , Unfortunately this isn't possible at the moment as those roll-up dates are only generated within a plan and not actually saved anywhere. We have considered whether or not this data should be persisted, but plans might only show a subset of work (resolved issues might not be in the plan, issues might be…

To show sprints on the timeline you need to do the following: * Ensure that you have a team associated with the board that the sprints comes from * Ensure that you issues assigned to the team * Use the "View settings" menu to group by team or sprint (and ensure you have the "Show capacity on timeline" checked. You should…

Hi @Cory Tsang , Unfortunately I don't believe that it is possible to schedule based off sub-task dependencies. The working assumption is that a sub-task is something that is done as part of the parent task (think in terms of a checklist of things to complete for the task). So it's not really expected that sub-tasks…
-
Hi @Chris Miller I know that you've already answered this question yourself - but I'm interested in what your expectations for where you would do this (maybe an import option on the releases tab?) and how long it took before you were able to find the right place to add them. We're always interested to understand any…
-
Hi @Mark Rudmik , Thanks for raising this question... I'd love to be able to say that we've made progress on reintroducing a theming like concept into Advanced Roadmaps but unfortunately due to changing priorities that is sadly not the case. To reiterate some of the thinking behind the decision, we removed Themes from…
-
Hi @Meital Adir, As @Curt Holley says, this configuration related to the Live Plans interface that has now been deprecated and will be removed from Cloud after July 2021. At this point these parts of the team UX will be removed from the Shared Teams page. We are focused a lot around teams in Advanced Roadmaps at the moment…
-
Hi @Anita Cacic , Unfortunately this isn't something that is on our roadmap and I've actually validated that this is working as intended (I had just misremembered how it worked unfortunately). In terms of a workaround, it's not going to be possible to view the Original Estimate field directly in the plan but if you want to…
-
Thanks for getting back to me @Adidas AG - that's good to know. If you have any more feedback on how you start to make use of teams then I'd really like to hear it. Some of the changes we're going to be making should make the discoverability of Shared Teams easier. Regards, Dave

@Bill Sheboy Advanced Roadmaps was originally a Server offering that we brought to Cloud as a result of its success there. It was developed somewhat independently of Roadmaps with different use cases in mind. Advanced Roadmaps offers more colouring options than Roadmaps and uses these to address different use cases. It's…
-
Hi @Alex Bernardin , Have you considered using Releases as an alternative to your milestone hierarchy level? You'd be able to use them at all hierarchy levels and you can also set start and end dates on them. This might be a good workaround to the problem if you're not currently using releases? Regards, Dave

Hi @Cory Tsang , The auto-scheduling should work fine with Kanban. The key thing is to make sure that your issues have estimates (it sounds like they have) and that the relationships you're using between issues are considered a dependency relationships in the Advanced Roadmaps settings (by default the only relationship…
