How about using wiki pages for the guidelines?
-
"Did something cool with an Atlassian product at work" (not sure how to decide what cool is though) "Educated people at work about an Atlassian tool" - gave an internal presentation or discussion "Made an Atlassian tool easier to use at work" - many large organizations have all kinds of self-service and other tools wrapped…
-
Wait, you use the phrase "self-reflecting" as well. Now that is confusing!
-
Good article! I see that @Rachel Wright's article at https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-articles/How-to-create-global-looping-transitions-in-a-Jira-workflow/ba-p/1135968 had some good discussion about what to call the "self-transitioning" transitions. Did you find some Atlassian docs that use the word…
-
Yeah, all the stuff Nic said. Also, avoid JVM heap sizes of exactly 32GB due to Java oddness around that. 31GB or 34GB is our guideline internally
-
Disclosure: the app is from Stiltsoft.
-
Lines 2 and 3 end in commas for some reason

What's the use case for this? Some kind of backup perhaps? However you do it, I'd be concerned about scaling because the total size of Jira attachments gets pretty large. One approach in an on-prem Jira is to use the fileattachment table in the database. This contains a date of when the attachment was added. So an external…

Thanks for pointing this out.
-
Very useful, thanks

I'd go with a Python script and loop over the list of option names calling the REST resource https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/api-group-project-components/#api-rest-api-3-component-post but it is a bit fiddly. Does Bob Swift has a plugin to do this perhaps?
-
This is very helpful! I had been bugging our TAM for an RSS feed of the KB page but we didn't get it working. That's a long list though, anyway to make the display easier to scan quickly? Perhaps with tags for the subjects?
-
Check the permission scheme for the Jira project and look at the Assignable User permission. Not sure if this applies to next-gen projects in Cloud though
-
A bit fiddly but this may help https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-remove-jira-version-and-node-id-from-the-footer-of-jira-pages-1019395064.html

Atlassian provides guidelines but the compliance is up to each plugin vendor. I would contact the individual vendors for the plugins you listed
-
That does work, but I recall people creating issues and entering the data, then when they finish and click Create, the validator kicks in and they lose that data. May not be the case any longer though? In case you wonder, we do use ScriptRunner, JSU and JMWE and about 12 other plugins. We just have our expectations set…
-
Is anyone using JDK 11 in production with Jira? Confluence?
-
Well, you could have different sets of issue types too, and use different icons for them. But I don't think this approach is something I'd want to maintain :)
-
Perhaps start with AO_60DB71_SPRINT but I'm not sure in the "started" field is the same as "active"
-
This involves some reverse engineering to understand the Jira Software AO tables. I think I would start by using REST at GET /rest/agile/1.0/board/{boardId}/sprint which returns a list of sprints, find the ID of the active sprint and then use GET /rest/agile/1.0/sprint/{sprintId}/issue to get the issues. Once that was…

Or the SSO plugin vendor may have a way to log in without SSO https://kantega-sso.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/KSE/overview
-
If this is Cloud, Atlassian Support is your next step. If it's on-prem then https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/restore-passwords-to-recover-admin-user-rights-972329273.html may help
-
I would check out Rachel Wright's book about cleaning up Jira instances, and make sure you know how to set Jira up better for the long-term. It only gets harder to clean up as Jira grows.
-
See https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-70484 and use JDK 11.0.8 and higher
-
"Would that that were true" - this is valid if somewhat archaic English. Apparently not valid American though :) https://english.stackexchange.com/questions/105919/what-kind-of-construct-is-would-that-that-were-all

Packing list? Hmm. * Headphones. I bet things get noisy up there * Spare glasses in case my pair get broken. Do contact lenses have problems in zero-g? * A tracking tool to plan my days. How is ServiceNow for that these days? * Something comforting * Spare toilet paper - think how much I could sell it for when I return!

You likely have transitions to Released to Prod that do not set the resolution in a post function, or transition without a screen that has the Resolution field on it
-
And colors need to be chosen carefully to work with dark mode and color blind people (me)

In Server and Data Center (not Cloud?), you have to check that the config Enable HTML in custom field descriptions and list item values is enabled. I've not allowed it for years in our instance though, since it makes searching on the values a bit weird.
