That's handy. How about a quick summary of the difference between Cloud and Data Center default permission schemes?
-
What is the version you are upgrading to? I don't see an 8.13.14 version at https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftware/jira-software-8-13-x-release-notes-1018783360.html

* Where you're from Northern England originally, South Yorkshire. But thirty years in the US now. Still with an English accent, apparently * Where you work LinkedIn, which is based in Sunnyvale, CA, USA. About a mile from where my wife grew up. * What you like to do in your free time Nothing too healthy, I'm afraid. Lots…

The problem is that the agile board doesn't realize that the "OR issuefunction" clause will only return ENWEB issues. It thinks the issues could come from any Jira project and that you need to have Manage Sprints permission in all of them. You could try changing the query to OR (project = ENWEB and issuefunction ...) which…

I see there are a few checklist plugins available on the Atlassian Marketplace but I haven't seen one that allows nested checkboxes. Perhaps file a feature request with one of the vendors. You might also be able to use the source code for cascading selects to create a new custom field type that renders those as checkboxes,…
-
Perhaps you need to reinstall the server versions of the plugins? Test in staging of course

One of the things I've learnt from Atlassian and Jira is to not use certain letters in a product name. "J" is a relatively new letter, only a few centuries old, so different languages have widely varying pronunciations for it. "W" is another risky one. I wonder now how the metal band Gojira say their name…

I didn't know about the effective limit of number of issues in an Epic, but I'm not surprised.

https://developer.atlassian.com/server/jira/platform/developing-for-high-availability-and-clustering/#developing-for-high-availability-and-clustering is the official source of info about things like scheduling tasks in a plugin for a Data Center instance
-
We pull a subset of our Active Directory groups into Jira, and have a separate service that allows people to modify groups they own. It works ok.

Talk to your Jira admins
-
Likely a ScriptRunner groovy scripted post function. But what if there is more than one linked duplicate issue?
-
If it's not showing in the issue History tab you can be sure that it's not in the Jira DB any more. The other thing to do is to clone the issue and then delete the contaminated issue. If you really want to be secure then check for the data in the database backups too

Yes, if aaa-123 is moved to project bbb will be, and the highest issue number in bbb was 458, then aaa-123 will become bbb-459 And as Joe says, there is an underlying issue id integer that never changes.

https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/change-the-base-url-of-jira-server-in-the-database-733940375.html is pretty close

Are both the screenshots 8.13? And is the distortion the overlapping in the issue summary fields? Worth checking your announcement banner for any javascript inserted there
-
If you rename a project key, the numeric part of the issue key does not change though
-
Basically. Each project has a number used for the last issue created in that project.
-
I've discussed this topic with Atlassian support in the past. I'd also start by reproducing the problem in staging, then remove suspicious plugins until you find a possible cause
-
Handy! I always change Manage Group Filter Subscriptions to Jira administrators to stop anyone from subscribing a large group such as jira-users to a filter. Jira can be used as a great spam tool :)
-
Which is what others said, but I have psuedo-code :)
-
The code in Jira's CreatedVsResolvedChart class contains logic similar to: int unresolvedTrend = 0;for (period in periodRange) { created = getNumCreatedIssues(period); resolved = getNumResolvedIssues(period); unresolvedTrend = unresolvedTrend + created - resolved;} If I start on Day 1 with some number of issues, create 10…
-
This is basically true for screen configurations (layouts). You can do this per issue type but not per component. So you can make Epics have different fields in a different order when you edit the issue.
-
Congratulations! I've discussed using such tools with my wife over the years. Turns out that assigning tasks to each other is a ... sensitive operation for both of us :)
-
Deleting a project is final. You can only back up Jira as a whole thing, not project by project So archive the projects. In Jira this means that the project isn't shown to users again and all the issues in the projects don't get indexed, so they are not searchable.
-
You need a Jira admin to check the log for the precise error but the url looks a bit suspicious. I guess I'd also create a new project from my browser and inspect the REST call and data passed to the server
-
Neat!

That is one of the smallest keyboards I've ever seen!

My wife and I had matching red and blue Nokia phones at one point long ago. We liked their size and the games. Yes, they had games.
