No obvious I see there. I do our Data Center upgrades by installing the new version of Jira with no plugins in the shared Jira home, then when one node starts up I re-install the plugins one by one. But those are really core apps to not start up. Anything else changed like the Java version?

That's exactly how we run our Jira Data Center instance, as do a number of other large enterprise organizations. No access from Jira hosts to the internet, no access from the internet to Jira URLs, DBs or hosts

I believe you. have to define Epics first, and they need an Epic Name. Then come Story etc issues

Checking the 8.20.8 source code for Jira Data Center I found the file jira-project/jira-components/jira-core/src/main/resources/jira-features.properties which has that string and comment # Enable project sidebar in projects settings That file is about all the docs I've found for dark features, but I'd love to be wrong

This overrode the default value of the custom field

With Jira Software Data Center 8.13.13 I was able to successfully do a CSV import with an empty string for the checkbox custom field value. I checked the Map Field Value checkbox during the import. The Values screen showed a row for the field, but with no mapping since I was only importing one issue Sample csv file to…

I also find the JQL profiler provided in ScriptRunner for Data Center is useful for understanding slow JQL queries
-
This is clever! I feel like I might have used a ScriptRunner web fragment to do this some time in the past, but I'm not positive?
-
I've found that in general the documentation for plugins that provide renderers for Jira is not great. However it seems that at least one person has worked out how to do this by creating new custom field types https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1220214/select2\ Perhaps you could use a ScriptRunner behaviour to do this,…

Check the list of plugins, find any that you use, upgrade them as directed.

Don't use white or you won't see the issue due to the white background. From experience

Yes. Teaching is the right thing to do. And yet for a number of reasons, teaching others well is a stretch for many people.
-
I haven't, but I think I would like it. Perhaps too much and not listen to anyone telling me what to build. Off in my own world.

Solid advice!

The attachments in Jira Data Center are stored in the Jira shared home directory, on disk not in the database. The storage has to be shared between all the Jira nodes but can be restricted otherwise. You need to arrange for backup of the attachment data separately from the database backups

This works for us in Jira Data Center 8.13 to produce a big yellow box * Install the Jira Toolkit app * Add a new field of type Message Field (Edit) to your screen(s) * Edit the default value to have a value such as <div style="background-color: yellow; border: 2px solid red; margin: 4px; padding: 2px; font-weight: bold;…

In that little pocket in trousers for change (that I never used), I now keep a few plastic table shims. Then when we go to a restaurant and the table is wobbly, I can use the shims instead of a napkin. No more spilled drinks! My wife thinks this is a bit odd, but I think it's a great idea.

You can't. But you can rename it to something else and then create the new task-like issue type. Then do a bulk move
-
Whether it's manual or automatic, I personally would find that to be micro-managing, not encouraging.
-
To find out from the app, I went to our 8.13.13 install directory and ran $ java -cp lib/catalina.jar org.apache.catalina.util.ServerInfo Server version: Apache Tomcat/8.5.65 And for 8.13.18 atlassian-jira-software-8.13.18-standalone]$ java -cp lib/catalina.jar org.apache.catalina.util.ServerInfo Server version: Apache…

You have a problem where two kinds of data are being stored in a single field. That's a config problem in how Jira has been used. Employee Termination Charles Hendridge 2022-02-23 As others have noted, a date field would be appropriate for the date part of that.
-
Neither Jira nor Confluence do more complex file management of attachments, nor allow renaming that I've seen. If the documents were Confluence pages it would be easier.
-
Sounds interesting!
-
I think the AttachmentManager.getAttachment() returns an Attachment object that contains the issue object information
-
As a Jira admin, you may need to add the fields to the screen used by that project and issue type

meatball aka ellipsis :) But I never know what to call a vertical ellipsis. Raindrops?

Sweet and brief, thanks! "Try to setup the scheme with only project roles in it." I agree, except I will often add the jira-administrators group to the Administer permission so that project admins cannot stop Jira administrators from administering their project. "In my opinion, try to use groups as much as possible over…

I'd be looking for nginx configuration for terminating ssl somewhere. And I'm not sure about randomly assigning a node id The dbconfig.xml file is best if readable only by jira
