Thank you for confirming! That is what I suspected. We have a system admin who still can't see what's expected, so your answer will help direct us down a new troubleshooting path. Thanks again.

I'm curious about this too. Perhaps there is a way to ID the class of the header and use CSS to manage its appearance?

:-) It's a "romance" novel...though I have never written in this genre before. It's more like a historical mystery -- not enough squishy stuff. Richard is a local boy-turned-outsider. Doris is a community leader wary of developers. How can they reconcile their family histories and get past their differences to save the…

Thank you for confirming! This will inform my link-fixing strategy. When feasible, I suggest running a report to find URLs that may be exceptions to the rule before mass-changing in the database. In our case, I noticed for example a URL to a site like, Cheese.ABC.domain.com which was still the correct URL. If we had…

Thank you! Our current system is workable, I'm always trying to find ways to make it easier for users to put the pages in the right place. :-) I did discover that it's possible to create a page in one space using the template in another. All that's required is the templateId and the destination spaceKey, for example,…

Hi Stephen, I'm back from holidays and I should clarify my question. 1. The use case for using a URL to create a page from template: I can add this link to the sidebar with other space shortcuts, or any place where the "create from template" button cannot be inserted. (Long story short, this helped resolve a squabble…

Thank you! I am considering self-publishing this one after it's edited. On a related note, I think some writers use Trello to keep track of their manuscript submissions to agents, etc.

I want to know this too!

I used to drive a manual transmission, 1970 Chevy Suburban that didn't have any interior paneling or cladding, and no brakes to speak of, so I can relate to the pain of driving a "stripper model." A good navigation app would have great ROI I believe as I hear about user confusion over search and navigation. Saving time…

We use templates for a lot of the same reasons, to create pages where the same format is used over and over. Also use a template to 1) add some default labels to new pages; 2) add an excerpt macro to encourage users to fill this out (helps searchers); 3) add a sidebar with some navigation; 4) add a page include with a…

I tried this too Sofia. How did you export the information?

Really nice breakdown of types of diagrams, and I love the flowchart as to which one to use.
-
Wow Mike this is a great story of listening to your end users and building something to meet their needs! I really like the menu you implemented and I will put this plugin on my wish list. Getting plugins funded is challenging in my group, but an easy navigation solution would have a great return on investment for all…

Further update, I was able to adjust the CSS to move the search box down far enough to not interfere with clicking the button. Thanks again Stephen and when our wiki admins upgrade us I will make a point to check for correct operation in the dev environment.

Hi Jim, what format do you want your outline to end up in (Word, CSV, Excel)? If Word, this is kind of a goofy idea, but you could create a mail merge document in Word to pull in the specific fields from the CSV in any format you like.

Okay, my user sent me some very helpful info including a video and I think I know what the problem is, but I don't know quite enough about CSS to fix it. On a few of our spaces, we have a custom search box and help links panel that "floats" in the upper right of the screen just below the "save" "watch" and "share" icons.…

Thank you so much for your reply. I have shared this with my user for more investigation. He is pretty busy right now so it may take several days to respond. I will circle back. (And yes, there is a plan in place for moving forward into a more current version. This is outside my control but I am looking forward to it!)

I have noticed this behavior too and I don't know why it happens. It can confuse users because they might not land where they expect. I have seen if a web page is short, then the browser will stop at the end of the page, regardless of where the anchor is. This can result in the linked-to anchor appearing in the middle of…
-
Oooh! I will ask our wiki admins if we can test this. In the meantime, can you paste a snapshot of what this looks like on a page? That will help me describe to them what it does. Thank you!
-
Agree with the above, look for a page element such as an image, macro, etc. that has a heading style applied.
-
I implemented this before reading your answer, and this technique has worked great for us. It solved the problem of people creating blank pages without footers. (The footer is included in all our page templates, but many people don't use the templates.) The previous wiki admin created a wiki-specific search bar and help…

I found this on Zapier integrations: https://zapier.com/app-directory/excel/integrations/trello Also this on another post: Do you use Office 365 Excel? If so, you can try it Trello, Office 365 Excel Integrations or take a look at Microsoft Excel and Trello Integration. I have used Excel with mail merge to create new cards…
-
I tried this, which works but doesn't create a unique card title: I used MS Word to perform a mail merge to send to the email-to-board email. It created the cards just fine but because you can't personalize subject lines using Word (unless you use some complicated add-ons), the card title came out the same for all of them.…

Weinberg's book sounds interesting, I'll add that to my wish list. I like the idea of both Confluence and Trello as "rock piles." I haven't used my transfer process in a while, so I'll find and refresh the writeup and post again. I like Scrivener a lot for writing, though it's such a powerful program there is quite a…

I think I did do the needful....can you check @Community Manager ?

Cute badge! And, encouraged me to check out the Trello community. Did not realize there was so much helpful content here!

The "appreciation list" is a great idea. I can see some of those kudos being used as "testimonials" on a WordPress web site for example. It is also great to be able to send a positive email directly to a card.
-
This is a great idea and I can see it being useful in building out a resume. I started a board a little like this related to job searching, but this is a whole other level of useful. Thank you!

I did not know about the Calendar power-up, I will have to try it! Does it work on iOS?

Delighted to read you're using Trello for NaNoWriMo! I have been using Trello to help plot my novels using the Save the Cat! beats method. Each list is a "beat" where certain things have to develop in the plot. I use cards for scenes within each beat and tag them with story arc, character, etc. using one of the power-ups…
