I use filtering when I am plotting out a novel and I want to see all the scenes with a certain character in them. Over the course of a novel, a character has their own "story arc," i.e. they grow, learn or change in some way. Filtering by character lets me see if my character is fulfilling their story arc as the overall…

Very helpful suggestion. I use Trello to plot out the "beats" in a novel (as in Save the Cat! method) and each list is a beat. Each beat can have multiple scenes so this is a great way to group scenes together. This way I can see where parts of the plot need to be fleshed out when the lists start to get long.

Hi Diego, we asked the two users who'd done this what happened and both of them said they had double-clicked on the image generated by the PlantUML macro. I don't know how that would have attached it to the page again, and I was not able to reproduce. So it remains a mystery!

I'm still using and liking this macro, however it seems to have a conflict with "export page as PDF." Any ideas why that might be? System error Cause com.atlassian.confluence.importexport.ImportExportException: Exception while rendering the PDF document…

Interesting -- I tried this out and it worked very well except that an expand macro inside an expand macro did not expand. However, when I exported the page as a PDF, all the expanded macros printed as expanded in the PDF. Thanks for this!

Two other possibilities, 1) Create a new user group (for example, new group name is "Owner" so the new group's name displays as "Spacename-Owner" 2) Put the space owner in the new group 3) Use the User List macro on a page to display the members in "Spacename-Owner" group. This should display a gray bar with "Group:…

Hi Kurt, I took a look at this. Since I'm not a wikispace admin, just a lowly and humble wiki admin :-) I finally got ordinary search parameters to work: type:page AND NOT macroName: include* This found all pages in our wiki that DON'T include the "include page" macro. This will help me find and update all the pages that…

Hey, that works slick. Thank you! This is something that really bugs my most engaged users, not being able to find something in non-expanded text on a page. Especially when search results said it's there!
-
I was able to indent the "expanding text" macro by using a snippet of CSS as follows. This affects all the expanding text macros on the page. .expand-control-icon { margin-left: 58px;}
-
And by the way I found the exact macro name using the Wikifier RT tool with some example data. It could probably be used to ID other third-party macro names.
-
Yes, this worked for this set of macros! Results, * macroName:table-filter - 57 results * macroName:table-chart - 27 results * macroName:pivot-table - 22 results I realize these search results may not include spaces or pages to which I don't have visibility. Based on these preliminary numbers it looks like these macros…

That is good to know Zak and I can certainly ask our (overworked) wikispace admin to take a look for me if I can't find a way to generate a list myself. I'm not a wikispace admin, just a lowly humble wiki admin. :-) I was hoping for a search parameter or way to generate a list that wouldn't involve me bothering him.

I also experienced this issue when there was a colon : character in the page title. I changed How To: Do Something to How To Do Something and the macro worked fine after that.

Thanks for responding, I think this is actually an #Avono macro. The "documentation" link takes me here: https://avono-support.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/PUML/pages/17727499/Macro+flowchart And if I look at the markup it says: {flowchart:atlassian-macro-output-type=INLINE|format=SVG} Noted! Michelle

Hi Diego thank you for your reply and I believe I have a good strategy now. I was using an SVG output format because we wanted the nodes to be clickable. We will stick with the X11 color scheme as you suggested or with colors that are the same in both schemes. In a further test, I edited the "old colors" macro to output as…

Hello and thank you for your response. I'm including screenshots and the Flowchart macro text. First here are the colors as they appear on the screen: And here are the colors as they appear in the PDF. You can see in the "old colors" row that aqua and light green have changed to black in the PDF (both nodes and arrows),…

Hello, I'm not sure if this will help you if you need to list the issues individually, but if you could use a summary report, you might try the Two Dimensional Filter Statistics gadget on a dashboard. I created one where the XAxis = Status and the YAxis = Components. The result was a list of the components, in each column…

I found a way to create a simple list of components (or labels) which I posted here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-questions/How-do-I-get-a-list-of-active-components-in-JIRA-and-export-them/qaq-p/419207 I don't know about importing components from a list though.
-
I tried something a bit goofy but it worked surprisingly well for a simple list of components. * Created a filter for "all issues" * Created a dashboard and added the Heat Map gadget * In Heat Map gadget settings, * Project/filter field = my "all issues" filter * Statistic type field = Components * Save gadget settings and…

I wanted to remove or hide the "Edit Document" link. By using "view source" to see the page code I discovered that the "Edit Document" link uses this: class="confluence-button office-editable" I was able to use the following CSS snippet to hide the "Edit Document" link well enough. /* This is used to hide the "Edit…

(The previous answer to this question disappeared so I am updating my response.) This method worked really well for me: * Used an online image map generating tool to generate the HTML. I used Summerstyle. (Be careful, one tool I found is a bitcoin mining site.) (If you can't or don't want to use a free online tool like…
-
I used the imagemap + html technique and it worked well, thank you. The specific generator you mentioned is unfortunately a bitcoin mining site, however there are other free image generators that are not. Since I don't want to upload the specific flowchart image I'm using to a site, here is a helpful tutorial I followed to…

@Stephen Sifers Thank you for this input, it gave me the confidence to tinker more. I ended up removing the "Tags" text and the end result is simpler: /* move title-heading down to make room for tags */ div#title-heading {margin-top: 15px;} /* put labels (tags) at top of page instead of bottom */ div#main-content…

That worked! Thank you!

I'll try that out. Thanks much!

I have noticed the same issue on server 6.2.3. Clicking on a link to the PPT/PPTX attachment, the preview shows only images, not the text, or sometimes only some of the text. So the user has to download the file in order to view it and it makes them grumpy. When using the PPT/PPTX display macro on the page itself, most --…

Thanks for this! I got decent results via CSS like this. It's a simple, half-transparent light gray box with a thin blue border that stays visible at the top right of the screen. .toc-btf { float: right; position: fixed; width: 300px; right: 0px; top: 170px; background: rgba(229, 232, 232, 0.5); border: 1px solid #0096d6;…

I've tried these techniques as described in the Markdown Syntax Guide but no joy: - indenting every line by 4 spaces - using 3 backtick ` quote marks before and after - using double brackets {{to enclose what should be monospace}} - this does result in a monospaced inline style ONLY IF there is no trailing space before the…

I have a similar issue. My Word doc contains some code comment examples in a monospace text: /*____________________________________________________________________________ | | | | xxxx.xxxx_xxxx | xxx for an xxx xxx xxxx | |____________________|_______________________________________________________| | | However the pipe |…

I found answers to some of my questions in the release notes for versions prior to 6.2.3.
