Some suggestions: 1. Make it clearer in the article that its not possible to integrate Statuspage with a Sandbox tenancy, saves people wasting time on trying to do integration testing with a Sandbox instance; 2. Not all Teams users have access to the Connectors in a channel, so they need to rely on the use of an automation…

Having just been through this experience after trying out some of the recent improvements to JSM integration flagged in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Statuspage-articles/Announcing-new-Statuspage-integrations/ba-p/2618566 I can confirm that there is STILL no viable way to test Statuspage from a Sandbox instance.…

We need to see additional functionality in managing Atlassian Access - Session Termination settings, going beyond the Reset Sessions button, reflected this in a request at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/ACCESS-1740 - noted there are quite a few adjacent/similar requests, would like to see Atlassian tackle this promptly…

Just following up on this to ensure folks are aware of the EAP for migrating archived issues, detailed in https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Atlassian-Migration-Program/Join-the-Early-Access-Program-EAP-for-Migration-of-Archived/ba-p/2512825

Note also that there is a separate guidance article for migration of Dashboards, in https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/how-to-migrate-all-dashboards-with-the-jira-cloud-migration-assistant-jcma-1103430546.html Given the reliance of Dashboards on Filters pre-existing, the Filters need to be migrated first, then…

Atlassian article for this is at https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloudkb/how-to-migrate-all-boards-and-filters-with-the-jira-cloud-migration-assistant-jcma-1095774091.html

Thanks for this. Would be good to see some more attention on what to do when critical apps that the business relies on are flagged as having low quality migration pathways and how to mitigate those. In practice, I've found that these create considerable complexity in migration planning, rehearsal and execution. There can…

Am deep in managing cloud migrations at the moment. I wouldn't trust the JCMA estimates, have found them to be questionable on accuracy. We deliberately run migration rehearsals to help establish our own migration cycle time benchmarks, but you'll find that JCMA only notes plan creation date, doesn't give a time-stamp of…

I run an Atlassian Solution Partner company, where we have Govt clients using DC products and clients migrating from Server>DC due to their security and governance obligations. Primarily deploying JIRA/Confluence integrations, often with Crowd, but also JSM with Insight (keen to see some AMA focus on JSM/Insight automation…

Thanks for this Keri, useful to have some focus on how people need to manage change at scale in larger instances. What's not made clear in the article is the gap in functionality for change progression from Sandbox environments to PRD. Sandbox is great for rehearsing how a change in config for new functionality can work,…

First place I'd start looking at is Exalate for IssueSync: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1213645/exalate-jira-issue-sync-more?hosting=cloud&tab=overview noting it has Azure DevOps hooks, but would want to dig a little deeper into MS Planner compatibility.

Great article @Daniel Ebers, thx for sharing, encapsulates a lot of good practices that can be hard, but necessary, to retrofit onto a wild west estate. I've also used an alternate Atlassian Pattern Mgt title, with relevant APM spaces in Conf/JIRA. The reality is that its a governance role but needs to be able to do…

Interesting, thanks @Guy - whilst Atlassian might have discarded the idea of developing as a product, doesn't mean others in ecosystem aren't interested. Assemblient have been watching and considering the merits of productising some of these patterns given our client base in RegTech, had held back a bit knowing Atlassian…

Good initiative, needed. Hope you record the webinar to make it available for govt enterprise clients in other time zones.

Recommend starting with https://partnerdirectory.atlassian.com/?lang=en-us - is this for JIRA Core, JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk?
-
Haven't seen anything further, but have you alerted Atlassian security of its existence despite applying the workaround?
-
You're going to face some (necessary) restrictions in the use of GovCloud - there's plenty of detail at https://aws.amazon.com/govcloud-us/ but the following notes would likely apply: 1. AWS has a number of prebuilt Atlassian images as ami's to speed up deployment - they're typically done as DataCentre based…

Sounds like the sort of thing a strong Solution Partner could also assist with, provided they're experienced in Govt service delivery and security requirements. Check the https://partnerdirectory.atlassian.com and use the Govt filter under Advanced as a starting point.

(pasting in response from Jeff on another post) According to this alertlogic.com blog, this vulnerability is also being exploited to launch ransomware.

Excellent write-up @Jeff Turner - thx for taking the extra time to document intervention steps for the benefit of others.

+1 from me on @Matt Doar comments, esp the audit logs granularity and change tracking. Whilst its possible to use AddOns that provide a more granular and extensive AuditLog, security support would be enhanced by having this as a better baseline standard.

Thanks Lauren - how about starting with follow up on this twitter request at https://twitter.com/valentijn/status/840573608988688385 for establishment of an AtlassianSecurity twitter account for security advisories? Would have been useful in the case of recent critical advisory on Confluence WebDAV at…

@guy - all well and good until you spend time working across a range of the different standardisation models for IT Governance/Control and start wrestling with the cross mappings or overlaps that are evident across ITSM/COBIT/SOX/SOC/HIPAA/ISO2700-n. If you've tackled that element, will be interested to hear how you did it.

Watched this get presented in your Summit2019 preview last night - really enjoyed it. As a CISA, I appreciated the hard work that's gone on behind the scenes in keeping this a transparent activity across Atlassian and the focus on simplifying. Worth noting that the Control Objectives referenced are from SOC, Sarbanes…

Suggest you start off with a basic understanding of how workflow design happens in JIRA - there's some excellent primer articles at the following: https://www.atlassian.com/blog/jira-software/building-workflow-awesome http://atlassianblog.wpengine.com/2013/10/using-workflow-awesome/ We encourage clients to use Trello as a…

Awesome writeup of a new admin experience @Scott Theus - chuckled all the way through reading this and have shared with others that are new to Jira admin experience. As another PM, how refreshing to see others also delight in the move away from MSProject. Once people understand the difference between a project reporting…

Aisha - What version of JIRA are you running? Keep in mind that it's possible to implement custom Priority Schemes from 7.6 (https://www.atlassian.com/blog/jira-software/jira-software-server-7-6) so you might not require a custom field to implement this.
-
Like many customer stories, it started out with JIRA as an issues manager for project delivery management, and built out from there, incrementally. The power of OS-workflow sparked our curiosity for going further, so started with 1 system integration and kept going from there. We're talking a multi-year investment.…

Heh, nice call-out, will make for interesting reading. I've got a customer who've implemented a custom UI in JIRA, sitting at well over 6m issues now, been running JIRA as a full stack BPM for core elements of their business. I had to build a fast proof of concept for supporting a 50% increase in agency output at one…

It's been a while since we've seen an answer posted in here, so thought I'd give a quick mention also of SLA PowerBox which I'm currently evaluating. Looks like it gives good fine grained control over which status to count as SLA-active, vs inactive. Worth a look:…
