Timeline is error for today
"There is a problem with the filter query: You cannot sort by the ‘Rank’ field. To fix this, update the filter in the board settings."
Hi @Ryo Kadota ,
This might be related to an Atlassian incident affecting Jira fields and search functionality.
https://jira-software.status.atlassian.com/incidents/1blzrf38268l
Atlassian has already marked it as resolved. Could you check whether your Timeline works again?
I'd hold off on changing your board configuration until you've managed to rule out that incident! 😊
Cheers, Arek🤠🧙♂️
Hi @Ryo Kadota, if you're still seeing that message on your Timeline now that the incident Arek linked has been resolved, there are two board-side causes I'd check before changing anything else. The first one I'd look at is whether the Rank field has been hidden in the field configuration your project uses, because when Rank is hidden there the board can't rank anything at all, and Atlassian's article on it covers both causes: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/users-are-unable-to-rank-issues-on-jira-boards/
The second is the board's filter query. Rank has to be its first sort. ORDER BY Rank ASC works, but ORDER BY priority DESC, Rank ASC doesn't, because Rank can't be a secondary sort in a board filter. I like the shortcut that same article gives: the board's general configuration has an Add Rank button that fixes the query for you, so you don't have to edit the JQL by hand. If your team needs the priority order as well, I'd follow the workaround in this one, which keeps priority in a separate saved filter: https://support.atlassian.com/jira/kb/issues-cant-be-manually-ranked-error-when-ranking-issues-in-the-backlog/
I hope one of those sorts it for you.
