I've added an application impacted asset field according to these instructions. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/connect-assets-schemas-with-incidents/
I can see the field on the screen of an open incident. The incident safety cone does not appear along with the asset name. The icon does appear when the same asset is added as an affected service. Why does the incident indicator not show up on the asset field?
Hi @Sarah.wright
I found an existing feature request that matches what you're describing: JSDCLOUD-19261. It's currently Gathering Interest.
Incident warning shown for Affected services isn't available for Assets custom fields. As a workaround, check the object's Connected Jira work items or use JQL to find related open incidents. Are incidents also missing from Change Risk Insights, or only warning icon? Cheers, Arek 🤠🧙♂️
Hi @Sarah.wright, the step that's easiest to miss in that doc is the last one. Adding the field to screens only makes it show on the incident. To have it count for incident tracking, go to Space settings, then Incident management, find your field under request types in the second step of the Assets section, and tick its checkbox: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/connect-assets-schemas-with-incidents/ (this needs Premium or Enterprise and the Advanced IT service management template).
Also, per that doc, the incident view for objects in this field is the risk insights in change management, so check a change request that uses the same object.
Is that checkbox already ticked for your incident request type?
Thanks for the response. Yes, those boxes are checked
Thank you! https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-19261 Describes the situation exactly. I threw a vote on it and will keep fingers crossed.
