Unexpected $2,500 billing estimate after downgrading from Jira Premium trial to Free

Hello,

I recently evaluated Jira Premium using a trial and subsequently downgraded my account to the Free plan.

However, I have received several automated emails warning me that my subscription may be deactivated unless I pay an estimated amount of USD 2,500.00 for:

Jira Premium MONTHLY JPY COMMERCIAL CLOUD

I am trying to understand where this amount is coming from, as everything I can see in my Atlassian account indicates that:

* All my products and subscriptions are either on the Free plan or show a cost of $0.00.
* No tokens or other usage are recorded anywhere.
* My account has already been downgraded from Premium to Free.

One detail that caught my attention is that the billing description includes "JPY", while the estimated amount is displayed in USD.

Could this be a currency conversion issue, or is there something else I might be overlooking?

Has anyone experienced something similar after downgrading from a Premium trial?

I would appreciate any advice on how to identify the source of this charge and ensure that my account remains on the Free plan without any outstanding balance.

Hi Philippe, since you've already opened a ticket with Billing, here are a few things worth putting in it so support can answer in one go.

* Estimate vs invoice. The amount in those warning emails is an estimate of an upcoming bill, not a charge. You've seen that the Billing console shows only the Free plan with no outstanding invoices, which fits an estimate that shouldn't apply.
* Look at the subscription list, not just the site's plan page. "Jira Premium MONTHLY … COMMERCIAL CLOUD" reads like the name of a subscription record. A site can show the Free plan while a separate Premium subscription entry still exists on the billing account. In the Billing console's subscription list, check whether a Jira Premium line is still listed, its status (active, scheduled for deactivation, or deactivated), and which organisation and site it is attached to.
* The JPY/USD mismatch. I can't tell from outside whether that is a display or conversion quirk, so quote it exactly in your ticket rather than guessing.

If a Premium subscription is still listed, screenshot it and the estimate email and add both to your ticket. Ask two specific questions: has the trial ended with nothing to pay, and can they confirm the estimate is voided. A downgrade may only take effect at the end of the billing period, so ask about the date too.

Community members can't see your account, so only support can settle it, but this should make their answer quick.

Thanks for the information and the helpful links!

I've checked the Billing Console, and it only shows my Free account with no charges or outstanding invoices.

I've also opened a support ticket with Atlassian Billing to clarify where the estimated amount is coming from.

Hopefully, they can shed some light on this.
