Hi we've been using Github for Jira for sometime but it seems like that connector is getting deprecated, is that connector the same as https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1219592/github-for-atlassian
Github for Atlassian?
Hello @Bartek Do
The LEGACY warning is due to Atlassian Connect reaching end of support on January 31, 2027. The app remains maintained and available on Marketplace. Atlassian hasn't announced its discontinuation. For the migration to Forge, there's also an open tracking request: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-97378

What Arek said - Github isn't going anywhere - too big of a user base.
they just rolled out Rovo's ability to index repo's/etc as it is. ๐
On the first part of your question, Bartek: yes, as far as I can tell it's the same connector. The Marketplace listing you linked has the app key com.github.integration.production, and Atlassian's own tracker uses "GitHub for Jira" and "GitHub for Atlassian" for that app.
Adding a few things to Arek's answer:
Atlassian has a page about the move to Forge: https://github.atlassian.com/spa/forge-migration-plan It says "Your existing connected GitHub organizations, repositories, and settings will carry over automatically, and there's nothing you need to prepare."
On JRACLOUD-97378 someone asked about the Legacy banner. Robert Massaioli from Atlassian replied on 28 September that, as he understood it, the team "does intend to continue supporting it" and would update the banner message.
The Marketplace's public data shows version 4.3.0, released 6 November, and it's no longer flagged as a Connect app.
So there's nothing to replace today. If you'd rather check than trust, note a number before and after, for example the result count of this JQL for one of your projects:
project = ABC AND development[commits].all > 0
If that number drops, you have something concrete to give Atlassian Support.
I should say I'm a Marketplace vendor in this area (Linkwright). This answer is about the official app.
