Can I write a Filter which produces separator lines in its Sort?

I'm using Jira as an overgrown to-do list manager, sort of analogous to iOS's Reminders app (whose visuals I really like.)

I've made a dashboard for myself which uses the Filter widget and sorts my open items by due date.  Incredibly basic stuff.

I'd very much like to add pretty separators to my Filter, such that I could easily see "these are overdue", "these are due today", "these are due tomorrow", and so forth.  And yeah, I could get there by carefully crafting multiple Filter widgets and making them be separate widgets in my Dashboard.

But that feels really inelegant.  Is there a better way?

Not really. The results from a JQL query are a true list. And other than having a list entry that looked like a separator (e.g. Summary was something like "--------------------"), there no feature like that in that gadget or any other JQL results list in Jira anywhere that I know of.

You might also explore using a Confluence page instead of a Jira Dashboard. There's an equivalent macro in Confluence to the dashboard gadget you're using. You might be able to arrange them on a Confluence page more to your liking, as there's a bit more flexibility there than with a Jira dashboard.

I use Confluence pages quite a lot for arbitrary reporting like this.
