Hello,
is there a way to get the list of projects that are using the issue type "Feature" in my case, by using the JQL?
Thanks!
@Sravan KumarJQL is used just to fetch list of issues. If doesn't return list of projects or for that matter anything other than issues.
Now to get list of project that is using 'Feature' issue type you have three ways,
SELECT DISTINCT P.pname, P.pkey, P.lead AS projectFROM project as PINNER JOIN jiraissue as J on J.PROJECT = P.IDINNER JOIN issuetype as I on I.ID = J.issuetype WHERE J.issuetype= <ID_OF_FEATURE_ISSUE_TYPE
Like and accept if this helps.
The simplest way to do this is run
issuetype = feature
save it as a filter. Give it a good name, then go to your dashboard and add a new gadget for "filter statistics". Use
This won't tell you every project that might use it, but it will tell you the ones that are.
@Sravan Kumar , if you are Jira admin, then you can go to Jira administration > issue type schemes.
If a issue type is associated to a project, it means its used in that project.
Thanks @Nic Brough -Adaptavist-
I thought about this too but the downside is it is not giving me all the projects as you mentioned. Thanks anyway!
I'll give it a try for solution:2 using the SQL query from the database. Thank You!!
Thanks, @Nic Brough -Adaptavist- . This works perfectly when looking for projects that actually use the issue type. In my use case, I didn't want projects that might use it because we have many projects that include issue types in their issue type scheme but they never get used. Thanks!
