auto populate a custom field from another field if the value does not exist in another custom fields

Hadar Ha

Hi,
I'm new in Jira,

I want to create an option where every time someone put a minor version in "fix version"

it will auto-populate the custom field "pending verify" only if the version does not appear in verified or skip version fields.

How do I do this?

I tried to use the post function copy value but in the precondition, I can't write an exact string as it's diverse according to the version.

Hello Hadar,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

There are some plugins that you can use to achieve this functionality on JIRA. My recommendation would be to use Automation for JIRA Cloud and configure something like the following rule:

Since the way to reference custom fields would be by Smart values, you can check the documentation below to know how you can reference your custom fields:

Smart Values

Let me know if this option would work for you, Hadar.
