Error while cleaning the installation directory Confluence server version 6.10 to 6.13

Question

I am encountering an error while upgrading confluence server version from 6.10 to 6.13 - "Error while cleaning the installation directory"

Steps taken:

1. Back up the confluence folder

2. stopped the confluence and SQL services

3. Ran the installer to upgrade, and it errors out at cleaning the installation directory step.

Also can you confirm the installation directory owner is same as the user account you are using to upgrade the confluence. if they are both different the installer cannot write to the files which is causing the installer to stop.

Sid_kvhzt3 · Answer

It should be a dedicated user. Make sure the dedicated user is owner of the confluence directories. It is always suggested to run confluence with a dedicated user not your personal account.

Yes, I did check that. I am the administrator and I have full access to the install directory.
