How to set the date format for 'Log Work' screen ?

I have my date format set to MM/dd/yyyy

but when I use the Log Work screen, the Date Started field insists on using the original dd/MMM/yy format. I find that format very difficult to use.

Is there a separate setting for that or is that a bug ?
