Can one JIRA project be linked to multiple bitbucket repos to be released independently

Hi,

We currently use JIRA pretty extensively along with SVN.

We would like to switch to BitBucket and possibly the rest of the Atlassian ecosystem (bamboo, Crucible, etc...).

Our JIRA project encompasses a number of applications that are released independently and we use branches/tags to identify which version of which app on which site/machine.

We currently use one single SVN repo for all the apps but we were told that switching to one BitBucket per app would be better.

So how can we link our one JIRA project with multiple BitBucket repo?

Do you suggest we remain with one BitBucket instead?

Hi Jerome,

Luckily for you a project is not just linked to a single repository. You link a Jira instance with one or more Bitbucket accounts/teams and choose which repositories to sync. If you select multiple repositories, Jira will keep track of commits done in the selected repositories.

When you mention an issue key in one of the commits the info will be linked into the mentioned issue independent of the repository the commit took place. As an example a screenshot from our Jira Software (Server) with an issue mentioned in commits across two repositories:
