Users from MS-AD are no longer synchornized in Jira

Hello folks,

First of all, I did my homework and read a lot of solutions given on the atlassian community for this kind of bug and I'm still stuck with my problem.

 

We have a Microsoft Active Directory. Our Jira server is (used to be) synchronized with this ad throught a standard user directory configuration (no ssl or something like that)

Since few days (may be longer, but we do not know exactly when), the user are no longer synchronized : 

• some users missing
• some groups are not updated for the users

I tried these solutions : 

• enabled full synchronisation instead of incremental
• Done some clean-up and deleted duplicate groups between the jira directory and the AD directory I found when I analyzed the cwd_group table (I have do that on our testing server, not production).

So... do you have any informations that I could look into it?

My next step is to enabling full logs (if it's possible) to check what are the data when I do a sync.

Troubleshooting problems like this can be made harder by the limitations of our community site (no file attachments / no private messaging).  It might be better to create a support request so that we can gather some logs and understand your user directory settings to better help.  I'm afraid that some of that data might be too sensitive to share here.   That said I will try to provide a breakdown of what I would want to look at here.

I have a list of things I'd want to know about your environment:

1. What version of Jira is this?
2. How many users are being synced from AD?
3. How many groups are synced from AD?
4. How many user directories do you have defined within Jira?
5. Take a look at your $JIRAHOME/log/atlassian-jira.log file when this sync occurs.  Do you find any errors in the logs when syncing this directory?
6. How long does this sync take to complete?

Perhaps we can offer some additional help here with more information.  But it might be that a support request might be necessary to find more insights specific to your environment with a support zip.
