How to add a dependent drop down field?

Please help me with the steps on how to add a dependent drop down fields. example: Based on the category selected, I should be able to display the request type field.

You can use behaviour plugin for your requirement. Following is the sample code:

 

FormField fieldFF = getFieldByName("YOUR CUSTOM FIELD NAME HERE");
String fieldValue = fieldFF.getValue();
if("FIELD VALUE".equals(fieldValue)){
   FormField fieldToHideFF = getFieldByName("YOUR FIELD NAME HERE");
   fieldToHideFF.setHidden(true);
}
