Is there a way to configure different default values for a field depends on the chosen issue type?

Hi,

We have a custom field called "Associate with"(Radio buttons type).

I didn't managed to create a configuration(via the 'configure custom field') that define the rules so that when the "create" window is opened (during the creation of a new issue in the relevant project in Jira) the default mark for the "Associate with" field will be: "A" if the issue type is "B" and "C" if the issue type is "D". the two issue types ("B" and "D") are located under the same project.

NOTE: the user of course should be able to modify the value under "Associate with" after he was first populated, if needed.

ah - just checked again, only one context per custom field per project

I've reviewed the post that you attached in, but unfortunately, I still don't understand what I should do in order to solve the issue.

What exactly the code that Renni wrote in her comment supposed to do? should I execute it under Behavior/Script Fields or maybe in a different place?

Hi Tom,

I've tried it before, as I mentioned, but it isn't possible to configure two separate default values for the same field, one for issue type "A" and one for issue type "B" within the same project.
