How to restore Confluence XML backup?

Hi,

I'm trying to restore XML backup on our development server (has SQL 2012) from our production server (using SQL 2014). I am using the admin page for the restore of the XML file backup (.zip) not working -- means didn't proceed even i click upload and restore button several times. If I extract and point to either entities.xml file and exportDescriptor.properties file, encountered issues, see individual results.

I have terminated this approach Roman. It took too long for it to restore.

I have tried the DB backup and restore, I just need to update base URL. Not sure if Atlassian still recommending restore from XML but DB back up and restore is quite effective than XML restore.

Hi @Christine Cagakit-Ingco,

if the restore process is still stuck at 1%, it has most probably ran out of memory and won’t continue.

I would recommend monitoring garbage collection and available memory during the restore to see if the amount of allocated memory is a bottleneck.
