Hiding assignee results in corrupt filters

I have hidden the filed Assignee by changing the field configuration for a project.

In the project that uses this configuration, some issues are assigned to me.

When I run the query: "Assignee = currentUser() AND resolution is empty"....my issues in that specific project do not show up.

What is happening here? And How can I solve this?

If you hide the assignee, how do you know that this issue has been assigned to you?

The setup is used for a "Personal project'....which is actually 1 project where all jira users can log their own things. Like a personal "to do" list.

The idea is:

The workflow is simplified and all issues are automatically assigned to the reporter
The reporter can only see his own issues.

So basically when the users opens this project, all issues in it (that he can see) are always assigned to him.

As the project uses issue type screen schemes which are shared with other projects, I have hidden the field assignee so it won't be visible on any of the screens.

Running the query: Project = "My Project" results in a list where the value for the field assignee is not shown (it looks empty but it is not).

Funny thing is that my avatar still shows up on the card in the backlog and the kanban board as proof that the issue is assigned to me.

As we also have a system dashboard with the filter "Assignee = currentUser() and resolution is empty"....you would expect all issues from "My Project" to show up here too,....but they don't.

So, are you configured through a workflow that allows the assignee to automatically inherit the reporter to do this?
