Calculated Risk Matrix - Scriptrunner for Jira

 Hi All

We have recently purchased scriptrunner and are looking to use it for our risk matrix. Im relatively new to groovy so was hoping to get some help.

We have 2 custom fields "risk consequence" (minimal,moderate,severe) & "risk likelihood" (rare,possible,likely) which are both select list single type fields. 

I have created a Scripted Field "risk rating". My risk matrix has ratings of low , medium , high.

Basically i want the rating to be calculated from the risk consequence * risk likelihood Example:

risk likelihood = rare 

risk consequence = severe

rare * severe = medium (risk rating)

How would i implement something like this? Is a Scripted Field the correct approach?

Would appreciate any help/guidance

i have built a risk assessment form based on 10 questions and used a scripted filed to calculate the risk value. It worked very well for my users.

Advice avoid allowing a None value in input select lists or check for null in your code.

my calculation was based on select index I.e 0,1,2 etc which meant select list can’t be reordered with amending the script
