How do I setup confluence to use my Microsoft sql server that is on the same server as confluence?

I am having issues setting up confluence to use ms sql. Please advise.

"Having issues" tells us nothing about the problem, other than there is one.

Could you explain what you've configured, what you've done differently to the docs and the actual errors/problems you see?

I am getting the following error when attempting to setup Confluence to MS SQL DB

Set up your database - Confluence

Collation error

The database collation 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS' is not supported by Confluence. You need to use 'SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CS_AS'. Learn more

Ok, you'll need to correct the configuration of the MS-SQL server in order to proceed. The reason and changes you need to make are in the documentation linked to by the error message you've pasted.

Once you've fixed the collation, you'll simply be able to run the installation again and select the corrected database.
