How can i set my Page Text to be single spaced?

Question

After i create a new page I paste single-spaced text (paragraph) from notepad.

The text somehow gets pasted as what appears to be 'double-spaced'. This takes up too much room on the page.

Shouldn't there be a formatting option to adjust the line spacing?

For example, 'select' multiple lines of text, then set that selection (and only that selection) to a desired line spacing.

Can someone suggest a fix?

I'm aware of the 'Shift-Enter' option but i don't want to have to do that for each line of a large text block.

In short, no. This is philosophical difference in that Confluence being HTML based and not a word processor. And Confluence chose to have items like spacing set by CSS at the global/space level. The editor just doesn't support this kind of local formatting control. My suspicion is that you are pasting in carriage returns at the end of each line (probably
). If you could paste a snippet of the page code (from the storage view - ... -> View Storage Format). Then we can see what is actually getting pasted into your doc.
