export a confluence site

Question

Hello,

How do I export a confluence site?  I want to move one site from a one environment of Confluence to another (same version).  On the Space Tools - Content Tools - Export, there is an xml format.  I can use that, then do I use the Administration options to do a restore in the other environment?  And it will create the space with the users and their permissions,and contents?

Hi Victor, usually the export would not take seconds to finish. something is wrong with this export.
can you try to go to Confluence admin and export the entire instance to XML instead of just some spaces?

Hi Rodrigo,

I do have a few questions.

I did try the XML export and it says complete. Then download, but nothing ever appears.  The bottom says it 'export complete' but there is no download option.  Same with the PDF export. (see cut and paste)

Also - will the export take care of attachments?

Hey Victor,

In case you want to move the whole Confluence site, I'd recommend you to follow this documentation instead of using the XML tool: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Migrating+Confluence+Between+Servers

However, if you want to migrate only a few spaces/pages from one instance to another, then you can follow the documentation mentioned by Rodrigo.
