How to recover my BB configuration after damaged plugin installation.

Question

Hello everyone:

I had a problem with my BB installation, I am not root in my server so I had to install git and java directly under

my BB user's directory, however while working with BB plugins my BB server no longer shows me BB's page, it shows me this error:

A fatal error has occurred

The following problem occurred, which prevents Atlassian Bitbucket from starting:

* You are using Git 1.7.7.3. The minimum supported version is 1.8.0. Upgrade to Git 1.8.0+, excluding 1.8.4.3, 2.0.2, 2.0.3, and restart Bitbucket.

I installed GIt and JAVA directrly under atlstash directory and modified the corresponding environment varialbles

so atlstash would see JAVA and Git. I get this from my very last log:

I installed git right under atlstash directory and added the path in to my .cshrc file as:

.cshrc

set path = (/apps/atlassian/stash/jdk8/jdk1.8.0_65/bin /apps/atlassian/stash/bin $path)

.bashrc

export PATH=$PATH:JAVA_HOME/bin:/apps/atlassian/stash/bin

.tcshrc

set path = ($path /apps/atlassian/stash/jdk8/jdk1.8.0_65/bin /apps/atlassian/stash/bin)

/apps/atlassian/stash/bin is where my git is currently located.

As shown I created a .bashrc and a .tcshrc with git's  corresponding path. My Bitbucket server runs with user atlastash and with tcsh shell. It was working fine, Honestly I don't know why it just started misbehaving!!

Besides creating the .cshrc, .bashrc and .tcshrc with the path to my git, what else do I need to add for stash to know where is my current git version.?

Is there a configuration file that I need to edit in order for Bitbucket no to skip my installed git?

Hi Jesse,

The error message indicates that Bitbucket could not find a supported version of git (>= 1.8.0). If you've installed a newer version of git in your user home directory, make sure that Bitbucket is started with this newer version on the PATH. This should help Bitbucket find the supported version and allow it to start up normally,
