Does the new Jira Project tracking tool work in the on-prem version of JIRA?

This announcement mentions new Jira Project Tracking tool in 7.12 - is that only in the cloud or also in the on-prem version of JIRA.

If not, is there a roadmap for that?

Hello,

The next-gen projects are not in Jira Server/Data Center. Where did you read this announcement?
